So, if I am at the lake and want to go to the pitchershow, where's the closest one?

Alexaner City has a rather clean and nice movie theater. I believe the name of the street is Cherokee. It is over across from the Goodyear Srore and close to Jim Bobs Chicken. I have not been to the movie there in a couple of years. I believe they still show first runs.

Auburn has a great movie theater, Carmike 16 on University Drive. Take 280E to 147S, turn left onto University & theater is approx. 2 miles on left across from University Mall. Very clean & just a few years old. From Oskars it is probably 30 minutes.

That is 2 miles on your other left AKA right. But everything else is accurate. Very nice theatre with matinees daily and VERY busy on weekend nights so go a little early to allow time in line for popcorn and coke.

Thanks! I'd much rather drive to Auburn than to Alex City. I'm about 3 miles down Centerport Road from Highway 50, and I recently discovered that Highway 50 goes all the way to 280! Easy trip to Yellowhammer. I will check out Carmike. Was coming down this weekend, but there's a wintry mix weather advisory out, so I'll probably give it a pass this time. Thanks again, though...

Okay, now I'm confused. So I take 50 to 280, turn right (toward Auburn); look for 147S, and turn left. That's University Boulevard? And I travel two miles and the Carmike is on the right?

No, turn right on 147off of 280, then left on University (it will be the first red light) then Carmike is on the right accross the street from the mall.

You get in your boat and lurk the shoreline until you find one of those nice glass houses with a projection screen...

Jeez! So now I gotta buy a boat?!? I see a future of wandering the 7,000 mile shoreline because I can't find my way back to my own slough....

Thanks for all the info, guys.

Equates to missing your slought almost 10 times. I will laugh with you since I missed mine a few times in the beginning.
