AKA, Obvious Island (sp) across from Kowoligia Marina, not much of an island anymore with the water down, but it has great beaches to play on.
Hope that helps, peace

The real name of the island is Sand Island and is located on every map of the lake.

I thought Sand Island is the Island with 1 Pine tree on it LTL........ I do respect your knowledge of the lake, but Longneck Island is closer to Kowoligia I believe.

The mention of Sand Island gets my attention. And yes, the so called “Longneck Island” is within sight of Sand Island, but not the same. If you headed from Longneck toward Willow Point, Sand Island is the small little island with just one pine tree left on it. If we had full pool this year, Sand Island would probably be totally under water by the end of the season. One more year of big waves will just about get it. If it is ever to be saved, this would be the year. Would be an expensive project, but I for one would be willing to contribute. Like LTL says, it is on most maps and has been a location point for many, many years.

My bad, I thought that was what some of you guys were calling Sand Island. I can't place Longneck Island right now. I do't get over that way much anymore. And I agree, Sand Island needs to be saved again. If not it will just be a hazard bouy very soon. It would be a shame to see that landmark gone forever. Three generations of my family have parked and played there.
