It's the Divisional Playoffs weekend !!!! And all of us football freaks will be glued to the tube not only today but tomorrow as well.

And aren't you glad you seen the ad that Charter is running in the Alexander City area ?? Yeah, the one that tells you to sign-up with Charter to watch the Big Games in HD.

So a few days ago you signed up with Charter and paid the extra money for the HD channels. And now you're tickled pink just waiting for the games to begin in HD.

Well, cowboy, I've got some good news and I've got some bad news.

The good news is that you will be able to watch the games on FOX in HD.

But, after paying the extra money for the HD channels, the bad news is that you WON'T be able to watch "The Big Games" on CBS and in HD like Charter's ad says you can.

We can watch ABC, NBC, and FOX in HD . . . but not CBS.

I sure hope the SUPERBOWL isn't on CBS !!!!!!

Aren't you glad we all have Charter taking care of us ??

Dish doesn't offer any networks in HD for most of the lake. Your side gets B'ham stations in HD, but us other folks get Montgomery stations w/o HD.

Talking about spoiled--three years we couldn't spell HD--now we can't live without it.

Remember when we had a BIG 25-inch TV ? And then we seen a Big Screen. And once you've seen a Big Screen, there's no going back. You need field glasses to watch a 25-incher.

And then we seen HD. And cowboy, once you've seen HD, there's no going back either. So we got ourselves a 60-inch Sony . . . and it's super fantastic . . . except when we're trying to watch any HD broadcast on Channel 8 - - CBS. Everybody in the nation is watching CBS in HD, but not Alexander City. Go figure.

I wonder if any of the Montgomery stations broadcast HD. I may be wrong, but I think all of the network stations in HD on Charter come from B'ham. Maybe channel 8 will wake up this year.

BTW, wanna buy a 36" TV. Got one to go---but it ain't HD. LOL

You are right Old Vet, I can not see the score or other stats of college football games at the top of the screen on a 25 inch TV. Please reassure me it is a plot by the broadcasters or electonics industry, and my eyesight is not getting worse.

I am waiting to buy new electronics after I have moved to the Lake as a full-timer. This should occur in the next couple of month, couple of years or after my ashes have cooled.

Anyway, I would like to hear recommendations on some of this electronics stuff along with providers (remember I want cable internet or equivalent). I maybe in the Coosa County part of the Lake if the first two options occur.

I would hope to burden Cat to spread my ashes along the length of the Lake if the latter option occurs first.

By the way, I just saw the movie "Bucket" yesterday. It did not get good reviews, but I enjoyed it.

I guess your Bucket List would have to include spending at least one night in your new place before the long nap.....!
