Heard on the radio yesterday that we've had less rain this year than we had at this time last year; that wasn't including the nice rain a couple of nights ago, though.

From what I can tell, we certainly aren't ahead; Looks like more on the way for the weekend....maybe they are expecting a gully washer.

I have a rain guage on my pier if you want to check it. We received very liitle moisture during the last weather event in Birmingham.

The last statisitics I saw indicated we are 50% below "normal" rainfall. My problem with that is it seems "normal" isn't normal any more. The quicker the powers recognize that, the quicker we can establish new normal benchmarks for our lake (wniter pool, fill date, draw down date, etc).

I may go look at your gage when I get back Monday to see what happens over the weekend.

That last rain gave us a little over .75 inches; It looked like the overall river basin averaged around .5 inches from the precip maps.
