Actually the first thirty feet from 490 can be controlled by the power co. in most cases

On property currently or previously owned by APCo does carry a 30' easement, Russell is 20-25' ,I believe, and some properties have no restrictions till you get to 490'

We have only been on the lake for 2 years. I can't believe people are mad if someone boat breaks down that they used their pier to fix their boat. I would welcome anyone to use my peir if they are broken down. That being said if I did get oil on someone's peir, I would clean it up or replace what I could not. Maybe that boater will be back to clean or repair. I just hope those complaining do not break down near someone with a PRIVATE PROPERTY sign. Bet they change their tune when they are stranded.

Came home one day after taking the kids to school to find a Bass boat tied up to my dock. Thought fate had smiled on me and someone had given me a treasure. After closer examination I found a note that said the owner was a school bus driver and he had broken down and would be back to retrieve his boat and left a number. I contacted him and invited him for a cold beer or whatever but the next morning the boat was gone. Sometimes you can"t even buy friends.

Gofish, you are not a villain for being upset that someone left a mess on your pier. This whole thread points out a lot of the growing pains that we are experiencing as our lake community becomes more crowded, well on its way to becoming overcrowded. Seems like you could come to a lake forum and get a little sympathy when someone committs such a rude and disrespectful act on your property, but instead you are told you are wrong and should have been more merciful. Everyone wants their own way, to know it all, and tell you what's what. The problem is there are more and more people at the same time that people have less and less common sense and common courtesy. Ppoint had a good point. Those tree tops that some folks wanted so bad are making a real nuisance for others. Now the average crap boat rude jerk doesn't participate on this forum, but the mentality here is not different. Everyone wants to do what they want to do and respecting others isn't high on the list. I say, yes, have fun on the water, but do you have to ruin everything for the homeowners who are paying the taxes here? And move on, there is no reason to sit in front of someone's house for hours, unless you are just an ignorant lazy turd or you are waiting for gofish to take a walk so you can use his dock. We need restrictions before it is mayhem here because you cannot depend on people to have respect and sense on their own.

This is what makes us so mad:

Folks drive their boats through the cove we live so fast and close to the docks that sometimes it is dangerous for our kids to swim and play. We actually had one person who kept riding their jet ski as close as 20 ft to our dock and pontoon boat, even though we repeatedly waved them off. We finally dropped some markers to form a swimmng area. This has seemed to help some. We will see this summer when The Lake is at full pool and everyone is in the water.

Yeah I hear ya Diva. I had a guy skiing right under my nose over my dinner plate with the lake less than 480. I could throw a stone over the patch he was pulling his kids through 75 miles an hour right off my dock. We need restrictions to protect the people who do have a little sense from the flock of morons who have joined us here.
