Think a gallon of gas is expensive?

This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ........ $10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ...........$9.52 per gallon

Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 ...... $10.17 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 . $10.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 . $33.60 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 .... $178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 ..... $123.20 per gallon

Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ......... .. $25.42 per gallon

Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 .$84.48 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER...

Evian water 9 oz $1.49..........$21.19 per gallon?!
$21.19 for WATER

And the buyers don't even know the source. (Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)

So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, or God forbid Pepto Bismol or Nyquil.

Just a little humor to help ease the pain of your next trip to the pump.

True, but how many gallons a week do you use ? When I was driving to montgomery every day I was using 25 to 27 gallons of gasoline. That would be ALOT of Snapple...LOL

I wish my car DID run on water! If it did, I wouldn't be stupid enough to fill it with Evian; I'd just turn on the tap, because that water costs considerably less. And that's the difference between the cost of many things vs. the cost of gasoline: with all of those other liquids you mentioned, buyers have a CHOICE. They can pay for Evian, or they can fill a glass at the sink. They can pay for Snapple, or they can buy tea bags, and brew them with water from the tap. With gasoline, buyers have very little choice, and that choice usually saves them a couple of cents per gallon.

Until drivers have a legitimate choice in gasoline, comparing the price of gas to most anything else is the work of the very foolish.

hey wrong sam why don't you drill for oil and give us another choice instead of showing us how little you know.

Are you saying that you didn't know that you don't have to drink Evian? Can it be that you had no idea that it was water that came out of the faucet when you turned the tap? (Or maybe the concept of running water is what is throwing you?)

All I did was state a fact: that while Evian might cost more per gallon than gasoline, water does not; the wording of the original post was as if Evian was the only choice available for those who want to buy water.

My post in no way indicated that I knew of any viable alternatives to gasoline, nor did I state that I thought it was outrageously expensive; I just pointed out that comparing something that comes with a set price to something that comes with a variety of price choices is illogical, and when you choose the highest price of those options it's unfair. Most people probably figured that out on their own; sorry you fall below that standard. Next time, I'll try to remember the audience before posting.

this "comparison" has been floating around the Internet for a couple of years and I agree with the flaws. I don't average more than 2 bucks a month on those other products, but I have spent over $300 dollars on gas in the last 10 days. I'm a big fan of tap water....maybe one of my young engineers will find an inexpensive way to make it power our boats and cars!
