I haven't seen any posts about her book after it became available. Has anyone read it, and if so, did you learn anything new you can share with us?

Gee, I haven't read it yet. Why don't you go buy a copy, read it, and let us know what it says?

GF, my Mom read it on her Kindle that we gave her for Christmas. She really liked the book and while not a fan of Palin in the election now says she has a new found respect for her and what she has accomplished. Don't think it changed her mind about whether she is right for a national office.

I just finished reading her book just after we returned from an Alaskan cruse. The folks up there seem to really like her. They said she had an almost unheard of 80% approvel.
They were a bit put out with her resighing but she did so because the left began to charge her with all sorts of ethics violations (Remember, they can indite a ham sandwich ) keep her in court forever and bankrupt the family. They have done this numerous times in the past to anyone who dares to speak up. I have always had a very favorable opinion of her. I think she is great but what's not to a like attractive lady who shoots carobou and cooks a mean moose stew?

I wait until these type books are at Goodwill. Last year I read two on the Bush family, Tom Delay's autobiography, one on JFK, another about Kissinger, and an interesting one by James Baker.

The one by Delay "No Retreat, No Surrender" has a forward by Rush and a preface by Sean. It is interesting how he describes the infighting among the Republicans to remove Newt as Speaker. He said that Newt is an amzaingly gifted man but was ineffective as Speaker. He writes that Dick Armey was also an ineffective leader as both Armey and Newt were beset with academic's dysfunction. Delay found out that a group of senators led by Steve Largent, J.C. Watts and Lindsey Graham were meeting to remove Newt and the rest is history.

GF, our DC lobbyist (Republican) once told me that much of the heated partisanship that emerged after the 1994 switch of control came out of the Speaker's office. I think he was empowered by running Jim Wright out of the Speaker position before then and had a different philosophy on how to lead. I have to admit I took that with somewhat of a grain of salt given many of the things Tip O'Neill did and said about Reagan but maybe the change was more internal to Congress rather than between the legislative and executive branches.

I have long suspected that the clubby atmosphere during the 40 years of Dem control contributed to the GOP's seemingly eternal minority status under the minority leadership of guys like Bob Michel. I think that attitude really chafed guys like Newt Gingrich and when they assumed control Dems really bristled at being the minority and the GOP overreached as the majority. What goes around comes around....

I loved it. She is a straight shooter! She has stood up against the left and the right! She is a woman who earned my total respect after reading the book! She is a person for the people and It would not matter what political position she ran for, I would probably vote for her if national or local. She has been a leader for the people no matter what level she has chosen. I truly loved the pictures she painted of Alaska in my mind and hope to visit one day. Learned more about Todd and what makes them who they have become. A wonderful" American Patriotic Commonsense Conservative"! Passed this one forward. A good read for sure.

I swear if you read the book, you would change your mind about Sarah and you would understand who she really is. The media paints so many pictures for us of so many different issues and really rips us all off from the truths to let us make a clear decision in our own judgements and limitations.
Two issues that intrigued me were the issue on Katie Couric , Abortions and the reason she stepped down at govenor.

I always thought you had to have experience and have accomplished something in order to become President. But you see that was not necessary and now look at the disaster we have. Thank God intelligent people are waking up and realizing the mistake they made.

And Lady ... I see you see support the disaster we call president .... oops I said intelligent people have woken up. You are still wrapped up in the hope and change. Well you keep hoping. Only a few more months and we will have leadership back in congress and then just have to grit our teeth and wait a couple more years until we can have leadership back in the whitehouse to fix the mess Obama is creating.

I wasn't asked to provide things about which you approve. The majority of the United States citizens voted for him and these are campaign promised that he made and that he kept. Your approval is not necessary.

I am surprised you didn't list how many successful bowel movements he made in his first year or how many phone calls every employee in the WH made. They are about as important as the list you provided. In looking at the list it misses his biggest accomplishments:

1. Return to fiscal sanity....oh wait a second, he has tripled our deficit and created more debt in one year than was created in the previous 225 years of our history.
2. Close Guantanomo....oh wait a second, its still open, thank God.
3. Socialize our health care system....oh, wait a second, a majority of Americans oppose it and it so bad it is stalled in the Dem controlled Congress, thank God.
4. Created an environment for Dems to be be elected en mass....oh wait a second, he lost NJ, VA and Teddy's seat in Mass, multitudes of Dems are retiring because they know they can't win, voted identification favors the GOP by 9%, more Americans call themselves Republicans than Dems for the first time in years, etc., etc. etc.
5. Passed the porkulus so unemployment wouldn't exceed 8% (remember, he promised)....oh wait a second, after spending hundreds of billions unemployment is over 10% and real unemployment is close to 17%.
6. Maintained high approval for his handling of the office...oh wait a second, he has the worst poll ratings for his policies of any first term President in history.
7. Changed the view of the whole world toward America, ended terrorism and brought about peace in the Middle East....oh wait a second, none of those are true and Islamofascists are gunning down our military in the U.S. and are trying to blow up airplanes with their underwear.
8. Finally solved global climate change and stopped sea levels from rising.....oh wait a second, the climate has been cooling for the last decade as CO2 levels continue to rise and his cap and tax plan is stuck in the Dem controlled Congress, thank God.
9. Promised no lobbyists in his administration and transparency...oh wait a second, he lied about both.

I could go on and on and on but suffice it to say you have listed either a bunch of tasks that are completely routine activities that no one in their right mind would call accomplishments or are so broad that they are almost silly (i.e., provided quality child care?!?!?). Y'all keep telling yourself what a great job he is doing.

I actually love the delusion as the American people wake up to the Obamination that he is. Keep it up and watch the electoral bloodbath coming in 2010 and 2012.

this morning. You are so funny. You can not be serious. The problem is he is focused on the wrong this and none of those have had any impact on what matters ... jobs, deficit, growth in the economy, national security.

We are so far worse off since he has taken office.

But I will give you credit for being able to cut and past off the Obama and socialist web sites.

I reallize you liberals are all upset that your hope and change is failing, you have a worthless leader and his approval rating fell the most in the first year than ANY other president.

He does not have a clue.

He promised no more than 8% unemployment if he gets $800 billion ... now he wants $300 billion more to creat jobs.

You have to laugh at how clueless he is.

We can no longer say that would happen now that the american people see what a disaster he and the dems are ... all you have to do is look at the recent elections and polls. Who would have thought a republican could win Ted Kennedy's senate seat. By a large margin .... WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE PARTY IS OVER .... for the good of the country.

Now even Obama is talking tax cuts to get the economy and jobs moving. The sad part is he had to destroy so many and hurt so many families while he pushed his socialist agenda.
