A few of us had the privilege of hanging out with my Father this past summer. He is full of heart and vigor. (Still) We can now laugh at his "Airborne" antics as he lept of the back of our boats as if he was calling to a cadence`.

I was planning to surprise him on his 60th birthday by being with him later this month (30 Jan), traveling to Oklahoma to be with him.

Tonight he had a heart attack, to which I am very happy to announce, as it gives me a target to which I I can aim for. This target does not include a 7 bypass surgery at the age of 28 (my mother).

If you know me well, you know that I live every minute of my life as if it is my last. The truth is, it may be. I hope everyone out there understands that we may not be here tomorow, make every day count and do not miss out on today, as is may not come around tomorrow!

As for my Father, his condition will improve, and he will come out again and give us more reasons to push on and enjoy the moment!

-PP Out

Pier, I too, wish you and your father a speedy recovery.

I understand your position. My parents were 40 when they had me. I am an only child. (Does it show? LOL) I felt my parents who were at least 10 years older than my friends' parents, would pass away before their parents did. Well, that wasn't the case, BUT it made me think about death sooner and I certainly tried/try to live the way you described....to the fullest. AND LOVE to the fullest.

Sorry to hear about your dad Tony. It seems like you and I just had a similar conversation at the shop a couple of months ago. Sometimes it takes a serious wake up call to make you stand back and take a good look around. My life changed a short 6 months ago today when I went into the hospital. Good luck and god bless your family. If you need anything, let me know.
Steve

PP my thoughts and prayers are with your Dad and you. My son and daughter promised to adjust their life styles ( they have pretty good lifestyles already). It makes you see life in a new way and like you say, live it to it's fullest. We don't have the promise of tomorrow. Never go to sleep at night angry at a loved one and make sure they know you love them.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement.!

This is now day after surgery and he is doing very well. He says everything is great, other than the hickups. For some reason he is prone to the hickups.
