Wanted to bring to your attention that the news mentions a large mass of dogs missing in St Clair County and central AL. They say they are being used for dog fighting training and breeding. I thought you might want to report Millie missing just in case they find some of the dogs.

Millie has been reported to the USDA. There have been a rash of stolen dogs in Coosa County as well.

They say they are muzzling them and using them for "bull baiting". I have to pray that Millie was stolen because they wanted her for a pet....or that they thought she might hunt. (hunting season ends Saturday...maybe they'll dump her after then and someone can find her).

There are still 24 bloodhounds missing in Alabama that have NOT been found (since October 31).

There has been a bloodhound my back yard the last three days in Birmingham. She has a red collar and has a tag with a number. I have called the owner three times. They dont seem to care about this dog. They actually said their other dog was killed by a dog and this dog is out because she is sad. She is jumping the fence and hanging in my back yard each day. I told them I would report the dog to animal control if they were not more responsible. It is horrible to see people not care about their pets. This dog has a right eye that is bad. makes me so sad! I think of Millie each day this dog shows up. I just wondered if it was someone's lost dog that these people took over sometimes because of their lack of concern.

Frightening to think that someone's lovely pet would be stolen and used in some awful way. I can't imagine stealing bloodhounds for dog figthting -- I've always imagined that they had sweet hound dispositions. It's easier for me to believe that they would steal them to sell.

People that do anything bad with dogs deserve a special place in hell as far as I'm concerned.

The news showed a strange variety of dogs. All were medium to large breeds. There are some sick people out there!

What is really horible is the dogs stolen ( med to large breds) are used to train the pits and pinchers used for fighting...I do also believe the slaughter of the goats on Goat Island were a dog fighting training session as well - wish we could get someone under cover in these organizations to put an end to them once and for all - I could never get in because anyone that knows me knows how I feel about any type of animal abuse...
