My husband accepted a new job on the west coast so we must sell our place. Does anyone know a GOOD HONEST real estate agent? I am looking for someone who is realistic about pricing and marketing. There is a lot of competition for listings and most of the agents we talk to will tell us anything we want to hear. We want a fair price but do not want to sit unsold for months & months. There is an agent who requires shoppers to call a phone number for information. What do you think of this? I do not think buyers want to jump thru hoops just to find out the price. Any advice or insight is appreciated.

I don't see how we could sell it ourselves. We live 2 hours from the lake and would not always be available to show it.

Another honest and very good agent is Barbara Veleke with CENTURY 21 Amy Banks Realty. You can get her at 256/212-6000. She is very attentive to her clients needs.

Ya'll crack me up! Are you serious??? I better check my email. Our old cabin is tiny with stairs down to the water. It is near the opening of a slough and has about 15 feet of water at the end of the dock.

I'll set up a web site like this one. No charge. Put in everything you could say and let buyers wait.. Make appointments for a time favorable to you.

Give buyers an hour or hour and a half 'til the next appointment. Its easy Save $30,000 on 500k house.

Be very careful of buying on west coast. My friend Ron Hoya bought a new house in Los Banos, CA. He then moved to Hanford and bought another house before the Los Banos house closed escrow.

It turns out he was dealing with a "flipper" who backed out.

Ron now has two houses. Price? 0/15 acre and 3200 sq ft house for only $599,000

The other house was more. He rented a 1200 sq ft house during construction for $1200/mo

I would rent. The CA bubble may ne bursting even as we speak.

See how much you might save in real estate commissions just by postings/word of mouth? I would think about it.

GeorgiaPeach
I spent 40 years in Seattle - the bubble there is not bursting and prices are staggering. I wish you luck - it is a pretty, vibrant place to live.
