My only disappointment with the Manitou is the apparent lack of quality in the upholstery, and fit and finish of the storage doors, etc. Got to put one in the water and try a 180 at 50 mph--might change my mind on the upholstery.

When I owned the marina and we were a Monterey dealer, we went to a dealer meeting where Mr. J. D. Powers was paid $10,000 to give a keynote speech on quality and, amazingly Monterey was rated # 1 the following year. The next year, Monterey refused to pay his fee and they went to dead last in quality.

Draw your own conclusions, but I think the ratings are bought and paid for.

that's what I posted earlier on the pontoon thread. I think most people would be reasonably happy with any of the top brands. Since you're not a dealer now, maybe you could offer some advice--looks like there are several of us in the market for pontoon boats this year.

and that is why I feel that 4 consecutive years with the csi award says it all for the Manitou. it is based soley on consumer satisfaction. By the way, the Manitou, unlike the jc that you sold, is nmma certified. I have two neighbors that have manitous, one of which is 7 years old, and both are still in great shape(big part of the reason I gave up the Harris)but the ride is what made up my mind!
