Anybody using wild blue for internet? Is it good or bad. I have dial up and no other options avaible.

Do not have any info on Wild Blue but:

My neighbors have Hughes Satellite Internet access and it is not very fast. Probably about 5 times faster than dial up.

I just recently bought a Verizon Wireless card PC5750 - Rev A compatible and it works great on the Alex City side of the lake. Have to say almost as fast as my DSL in Bham. And the nice thing is anywhere I have a Verizon signal I have Internet access with my laptop.

Get you one of these and a directional antenna, and use your neighbor across the lake's access. I have Charter myself, but one day I picked up 8 wireless networks, unsecured, in one direction! I use it with my laptop when I travel. Totally amazing!!!!

I got two cans and punched holes in the bottom, I tried them together with a long piece of string and can now talk to the kids with it. Next weekend, I'm going high speed with a maxwell house can.

I have HughesNet and it works great. Not cheap but I need to be able to work when I am at Lake Martin and internet is a must.

I have Com-Link internet cable access only at $34.95 per month. It works better than the cable access I had in Birmingham. They do not do much advertising and it took me a year to even find them so you may want to give them a call to see if yourr house is in their coverage area. They are located in Eufaula.
