still unanswered questions:

2. The Harbor still looks horrible - they ever going to fix that eye sore?
3. Heard Scrushy is still buying more development property on the lake - where is that?
4. Are there any good rope swings on the lake?

Hi, Will try to help you find an answer on your remaining questions:

#2. Obtain the Harbor's phone number and give them a call. They can probably give you a better answer than anyone on the Forum.

#3. Think all that Scrushy is buying currently is freedom time prior to possble prison time. Mr. Parker, the lead on his Defense Team, just ended the Defense side testimony this week. Since the Govt. took his Lake Cabin, his two places on Ono Island, and another place that I have forgoten the location of - I doubt he is buying additional property. Where did you hear the rumor and from who? You might want to go back and confront them and ask your question. Please let us know if you sense there is any essence of truth to this rumor. I would wager with you twenty bucks there is not.

4. Rope and an old tire are still of reasonable cost (if you win the above bet you will have plenty of money for the project). Put one up off the end of your dock and enjoy. That way you can save gas going to someone else's swing. I assume you are referring to that type of swing vs. a park swing. Go back and read the post since someone did provide the location of a rope swing. Insurance liability probably precludes the availabity to other's swings being available to the general public particularly when kids are involved and some parents are not dilligent in personal supervision.

Know this is not the answers you want, but it should be decent guidance for you to answer your own questions. Questions 3 & 4 have been responded to previousely. As one former Lake Martin poster used to say - Have A Great Lake Day.

Boston Harbor--its full of indians and has a strange smell of tea.

your questions:

The government has NOT taken any of Scrushy's stuff (yet). We still live in a country where you are innocent until proven guilty. He may be guilty next week. Years ago he bought the old Martin property in the Bama Park area and recently bought the 180 acres that adjoins it (most of it was the old Ward property near Union). His development company is Marin Properties, Inc. Marin is his middle name: Richard M. Scrushy.

You owe me $20.

around the corner from the Rock. Across the lake from the Ridge Marina.

I thought it was. . .maybe your quest for answers has blurred your sense of humor.

Well dang it, if you knew the answer then why did you ask the question? I will double the bet in that Scrushy does not have access to his Lake Martin Cabin. I also read that the Govt. took his boat named "Monopoly".
I posted on the Forum a few months ago a newspaper article saying the Govt. had control of those properties.

Now, if you do not want to double the bet and just want the $20.00 then send me proof that he is personally currently buying up property and your mailing address. You can send me an email.

You going to buy that rope swing with that twenty?

your money, but, the government tried to sieze all of his assets right after he was indicted. However, the government lost that part of the case. Mr. Scrushy filed to have some of his assets released, but the judge said that the government had so mishandled the case, all of his assets were unsiezed.

I asked the question, because I don't know what he is planning on doing with the property. I have seen road work on the land and was told he was adding more "estate" lots to Marina Marin, but I wasn't sure.

Maybe you and yours can meet me and mine at Chucks for a beer and pizza on you this summer!

I loved this board more last summer when there seemed to be more good humor on here. I just thought your attempt at humor was lacking. Sorry.

I just hate it when I am wrong.

I just wish I could pay my debt that way. This will be the first year out of the last five that we will not be able to get down. If only a dinner bill could be the ticket, I would gladly pay right or wrong.

If you are correct, then Mr. Scrushy has been getting a lot of bad press in the Washington Post.

I thought I already gave you the answers to those questions. They will clean up the Harbor....one way or another...eventually. I can't grasp the interest in Scrooooooooshy. Sorry, his credibility and value is as questionable as Michael Jackson's. Rope swings....has the current crowd started painting graffiti on them too? No wonder there aren't any. You don't see anybody putting up any more Acapulco Rocks do you? Now you know why....

I liked it better then too. People werent flooding the forum with the same five questions over and over again. There was some repetition in complaints about wakes and karaoke and loud generators, but as far as i can remember there werent any scrushy obsessed alzhiemer's posters--repeating the same post over and over even though it has already been answered by two or three posts. In case you have forgotten while reading this post---there is a rope swing a little ways up the Elkahatchee Creek, the Harbor (not the one with Indians and tea) will eventually be cleaned up, and, at least according to this forum, Scrushy is not developing more land---he is decorating a cell at his soon to be new home.

A couple of my buddies built a swing near Raintree Subdivision last summer. It was huge. I estimate it was about 30 ft high at the release point.

This was not smart. One of the guys that built it hit pretty hard on one jump, and it ruptured his spleen. He was in the hospitlal for a few days afterward. I'm not making this up.

I'm not sure if the swing is still there because we never went back. If you want to find out, go to Raintree by boat. When you arrive at Raintree, turn left and look along the bank on your left. You will see the clearing and the swing, or what's left of if.

THE SWING IS STILL THERE. WE WENT OFF SEVERAL TIMES LAST YR. WHAT A SWING. WE EVEN WENT OFF OF IT AT NIGHT. WAS WORRIED ABOUT KIDS HURTING THEMSELVES SO I PUT ONE IN MY YARD WITH A 10FT. HIGH PLATFORM BACK A BIT FROM THE WATER. I KNOW WHO AND WHAT IS ON IT SO I FEEL A LITTLE MORE SAFE.
