There are some rules that MUST be followed on the lake. Pontoon boats and bass boats can only be operated during daylight hours Monday Thru noon on Fridays, and any weekday monday thru sunday 12mid, until 8am. ALL other dayparts are reseverved for powerboats. These rules are enforced and all will be prosicuted to the max. If you break these rules, you will be imprisoned for a long long time. For a small fee, you might want to join the LMPBA. (Lake Martin Powerboat Assoc.). We will keep you in compliance with the lake rules and regs. If you don't own a powerboat, it is best that you stay close to shore, and out of the main channel of the lake. You can find these laws recorded in sec.8, paragraph6 on page 9 of the LMPBA dialogs.
p.s. I found Jr.s @ss today.

Speaking for all Newbies, this sounds reasonable to me :-)

Cat Boat, You failed to mention one key detail of the rules. You must of accidently overlooked that segment, but it will remove much of the confusion.. It is highlighted in the Preable of the rule book. The rules only apply to non-property owners visiting the Lake. Property owners are exempt. This could be considered significant by the minority of Lake Martin users (property owners).

Although, there is a major revision underway that may jeopardize the pleasure of Lake Martin to the majority. This revision would close all boat ramps providing access to the Lake from March 15th through October 21st ("Peak Season Period") of the calendar year. This proposal would allow all ramps to open on Wednesdays of each week, unless a National Holiday, from sunrise to sunset during the "Peak Season Period". Primarily, this provides access to property owners for the arrival of newly acquired vessels. Lake Martin welcomed visitors will be allowed to launch their vessels on a "Stand-By Basis". Stand-by applications must be post marked two weeks prior to desired launch or removal of visitor's vessels.

To many of us Lake Martin Property Owners (LMPOs), the above proposal is a travesty and discriminates against our most welcomed and cherished guest to the Lake. Voting ballots are scheduled to be sent out by registered mail to property owners around mid-"Feb". It is of paramount importance that we encourage all property owners to -VOTE NO! - to this proposition. So if you are eligible to vote as an LMPO, please think of the negative effect this proposition. If approved, it will drastically reduce the boating activity to include absence of " Go Fast Boats". It very well may jepordize one the major social events of the year. The Lake Martin Clean-Up will be without it major requirement, trash left by our cherished Lake Martin guest and visitors. So, Please vote NO! ; )

Cat boat, I have a couple of friends with powerboats and have ridden in them and have enjoyed them. Your comments and comments in the past seem to be more of a negitive influence on the sport boat group than they help. As you know there are a lot of folks that take offense to them and anything that gets posted. After reading your comments even I ,a supporter, get somewhat annoyed at what you put out there. Why fuel the fire? I would hate for any restrictions to be placed on the lake, but it seems that you are taking the track to open that window for the so called do gooders. See you out there on the lake!!
