sometimes these kind of things are inevitable. The key is the development and make sure that they are done properly. I don't believe you can stop it. I've had this experience in Florida. I grew up in Seagrove Beach Florida and watched what happened after Southern Living Magazine did a feature story on Robert and Darryl Davis ,the land owners and developers of Seaside. They ended up moving back to California . What I understand is they visioned Seaside as residential not tourism. They hoped for more of a "Green" community and they got a tourist destination. Seagrove changed because of this. People came in volume the development never ended. The roads were not designed for the traffic. It became a bumper to bumper tourist destination. Rules and regulations increased. I was just luck enough to have experienced it the was it was before Seaside/Southern Living introduced it to the rest of the world. All I can say is enjoy each day as if it were you last. It's a beautiful place. You can't blame anyone for wanting a piece of Gods country on Lake Martin.
