If the things being said about obama, and the things being said about the dems on the board, were being said about Russell Lands/Ben Russell, would the Webmaster let the posts stay, or would he be deleting as fast as he does when somebody says something anti-Russell?
p.s.-- to avoid the flame war, let me say that the dems are the ones facing the majority of the bashing because the Republicans make up the majority of the board. If the demographics were reversed, I'm pretty sure the number of insults would stay the same. On this board right now the few dem posters are slinging their share of mud and arrows, it's just that they are such a minority that it isn't as noticeable. And I don't want this to be a political post or a political topic as much as I wanted to point out that to me, it doesn't look like the rules are enforced with as much zeal when local GOBs aren't the targets.

In defense of the Webmaster, some of the recent posts that were deleted concerning Russell were bordering on some issues that would eventually go into litigation, and, and, and, end the Forum for most of us who enjoy it. I don't blame the Webmaster for taking action to control it.
Next issue- Political Bashing. Just finished watching the Network News, skipping among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox. BIASED REPORTING in all 4. 3 pro-dem 1 pro-rep. These broadcasts are looking for "MONEY" for their networks, at any cost. If you believe any of them, then so be it.
Demographics- We are surrounded by conservatives, who work for a living, pay taxes blindly, protect their families and property with GUNS, and VOTE. Unfortunately, we get our information about candidates from the media, which is NOT THERE to INFORM, but to sell advertising space and make MONEY. FACTS BE DAMNED!
The Forum is a chance to read an ALTERNATIVE to what we see on TV every night about the election. If a post is pure BS, you can bet that somebody here will answer with better FACTS.

I think bullet number 8 on the Forum Usage Rules will answer your question without any political discussion required.
To the best of my knowledge this is a privately owned Forum with public particapation. The owner (who happens to be the Forum Webmaster) has to sell advertising in order to run the Forum and make a living.
No advertiser is going to advertise on a Forum which tolerates post negative to their business concern. This is Capitalism on the part of the advertisers and the Forum Owner.
I hope this not only addresses your question along with answering it.

I'm not sure that "Do you try to act stupid or are you that way naturally??" can be considered "answering with better FACTS." But that, and variants of it, are the responses I see most often.
I wonder why those responses aren't considered personal attacks?
