Sorry it took me awhile to get back, but I spent all night trying to solve your idiot's $6-8 trillion debt addition.

Problem with US health care and it's run away cost are pretty complex, but just about all of the problem stems from guvment involvement and/or intervention.  Here's a short list of solutions that will begin to help the system.

1.  The assumption that everyone is "entitled" to the same level of health care was invented by the guvment. End this policy.   If you are not a citizen if the US, buy insurance or pay list price out of you pocket.  Or go home.  Medicaid patients receive basic care, if they are truly destitute.

2.  Get the trial lawyers out of the process.  Pretty simple approach is:  You lose your case, you pay legal expenses and court costs of the other side.  On class actions against device and pill companies, same rule.  ACLU same.  There is risk in health care; the patient must know and assume some of the risk.

3.  On pill patents, shorten protection to 10 years.

4.  Tighten "safe harbor laws" to prevent physician investment in imaging centers, out pat surgery, etc.

5.  Re-institute CONs in all states to prevent duplication of services and unnecessary competition.

6.  Reexamine prospective payment (DRGs) system of payment to hospitals.

7.  Most importantly, end cost shifting from the guvment (Medicaid) to the insurance companies and bill paying patients.  This is the single biggest problem.  If everyone paid the same thing, including the guvment, the overall costs would be reasonable.  The largest reason for the escalating costs over the past 20 years is cost shifting from the mandated free care BS.

Does this involve guvment intervention, you betcha.  The guvment created the problem and they will have to fix it.  Will it be painful, you betcha.  Will people have to suffer, probably. Will it break the guvment, not if the thieves in Washington get off their butt, stop buying votes with freebies, and do their job.

GF, we invite your specific comments.  Note the word specific, not your usual BS.

I forgot to mention that the origin of modern free healthcare started with the Hill-Burton Law passed in 1946 to help rural areas build hospitals.  Most public hospitals built after WWII up into the 70s used H-B loans to build or add-on.  A part of that law required any hospital using funds from that law to treat a certain number of indigent patients for free for 20 years.  Your wonderful Congress changed 20 years to forever and the result is the mess we have today.  Many of the rural hospitals built with H-B funds have now closed, a victim of bankruptcy due to free healthcare from your friendly politician.

I think I hear crickets .... GF is unable to respond point for point...just cherry-pick inane and unrelated drivel.

Hey GF, are you EVER going to respond to legitimate requests for answers?  Thought not.  Prove me wrong.
