From the APC site:

"Take Note: Due to locally heavy rainfall, Martin will rise above normal elevation for this time of year. Martin will crest around elevation 486.50 on Tuesday, February 2nd. Lake elevations are always subject to change, depending on conditions."

I know that rain is the unknown variable, but does anyone think we'll get back to 480 before fill starts in mid February?

Thanks au67. With the lake coming up to 486.5 so early everyone should think about boats and stuff on the bank that may not be tied off. Also, boats may need to be re-tied to prevent sinking as the water rises. Hope all construction projects can be finished. Water probably won't go back to 480' this year.

I like it...except that I haven't burned that big pile of stick on the shoreline.

Yea, well it sounds like we may not have to burn them. They may just float over to the neigbhors house. :)

Got enough debris on my shoreline without you sending yours over. Maybe the current will shift and flow up-stream!

Many have come and gone on Lake Martin,
Some made friends by staying
and sharing their toys and playing,
Others made friends by departin...,

Now along comes a different class,
Of neighbor who lives upstream of Jim Dandy
And said neighbor is by all accounts sorta randy,
When it comes to disposing of limbs, leaves and clipping of grass,

Now only time will tell in that Lake Martin sound
If the trash goes up stream or down,
Which kind of neighbor Jim Dandy will have
In the Alias known to one and all as MAV. :-}

That's a neat poem that I enjoyed reading. I always thought of poets as laid back with beards. Kinda ultra leftists. Cheers.

If you look at the prop in early January it is definitely possible to get back to 480 before mid-February. Whether it happens will depend on rainfall because it was very dry in early January due to the super cold weather. I suspect if it continues to rain, or we get another big rain event, that they will not get to 480.0 but you never know.

Burned my second pile today. Great day to burn, but I'm glad I'm through. Too old for that sport.
