sorry, receive is one in the middle of the night from your lake neighbors saying your house is on fire. Happened early Monday morning and thanks to a major effort from the Red Hill and Kowliga fire departments, and alert neighbors who with their hoses went beyond the call of duty, we were able to significantly limit the fire's scope. Presume it started under a back deck (?electrical we don't know, nothing else under there). It will be a long road back but hopefully we'll be back in when the water returns in spring. Don't wish this event on anyone, but no one injured, no personal effects lost, thanks to those dedicated volunteers in our local fire departments. Please donate to their cause whenever you get a chance. You never know when that phone is going to ring..........

The first and most important thing is your family is safe. Everthing else is scondary as you know.

Atter a good look at it in the daylight , I hope the damage is not too severe,

We are indeed fortunate to have able and willing local volunteer fire departments. They do save lives everyday.

You will find rebuilding cost espensive so hold your insurance company to the line with the approproate and reasonable cost. of repaier.

Once again, I am, happy to hear it was not a tragedy.

Best of luck with the recovery. Looking on the bright side, you should be able to find plenty of subs looking for work.

Everyone's worst mightmare. So sorry to hear about the fire. Thank goodness that in this day and time we still have people that will volunteer for the fire department, save lives and do what they can to save our burning homes as well. It also helps to have great neighbors also. We love the lake, but we love the people too.

Thank you all for the kind words of support. Things could have been much worse and we now are in the mindset of looking forward to the reconstruction phase. Will take some time, however, and patience has never been a strong suit of mine. Feel free to stop and say hello if you're in the vicinity. We will be spending alot of time there this winter.
