Let me preface this by saying that I have not been to Susies this year since they reopened. But Saturday night I came home, got out of my car and heard Susies. I live three sloughs over and I know sound carries at night, but I was glad I didn't live any closer. A friend of mine does though, and had to go there Friday night after 10 pm and ask them to quiet it down. I think Friday was Karoke night, I'm not sure about Saturday. I'm not sure that the eating establishment we were hoping for is what we'll find. we'll give it a try, though to be fair. I'm not a stick in the mud and love a party as much as the next guy, but I hope they consider the neighbors who live there when it comes to volume and late hours.

I wonder if the speakers are less than 26' 11" and slower than 60 mph?

j/k

I can see where your concern could come into play but to be honest I am just glad to see the doors open for business. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how well Chuck's does with nighttime business so if I needed income I would follow in those footsteps. Besides that it is nice to have options on the lake. I always wondered why Sinclairs never let the light come on and realize people are starving for nightime entertainment on the lake. Don't knock them down before they get started. If they are bothering the neighbors then it will be taken care of. 10 or 11pm shut down is not to late to deal with a little noise. I live right by Anchor Bay and I hope it becomes a HUGE HIT for the summer. Chuck's is a long ride home after 1 or 12 ML's.

Think you're ok after 1, but 12ML"s would make you a happy boater!

We usually boat by committee. One on the right....one on the front and the driver just obeys orders. :-)

Seems like there was the same Forum complaints about Chucks a couple of years ago.

I think if I were in your position, I would have similar concerns.

I have been watching Lake Havasue or however you spell it on Tru TV lately, and comparing it to Lake Martin. There is the area very similar to the Rock and etc.

Terrible to think Lake Martin would turn into a beach town like PC or others. I guess not in my lifetime, but it may happen.

It is the resturaunt at Anchor Bay Marina. It has been struggling of late but back in the day was quite the redneck honky tonky when the place was known as Castaway Island. I live on the other side now (sworn statement as to ownership coming by email....LMAO) so I never made to to Suzie Q's but they got OK reviews on here from those that did go. The drought last year killed them, as it did several other businesses.

Castaway used to hold an annual wet T-shirt/bathing suit contest on the 4th of July every year. Man were those FUN!!

Those contests were the hit of the lake.....everyone would leave the rock to come to Anchor Bay....looked like the lake during fireworks. Actually they were going to see fireworks. :-) Miss the good ol' days of Castaway Island. Maybe Suzi is listening..........
