I read the forum pretty often. I can see that some are full-time residents, some are part-timers (as I am) and others enjoy the lake as nonresidents.

Some of you know each other; but, I believe most of us are anonymous.

I am curious; and if any of you care to say, how far does each of you travel from home to the lake and how often? How long is your average stay on each trip? And, do you come year-round?

I travel 263 miles door-to-door. We visit year round, but more often in the summer. My spouse and I usually travel in separate vehichles and come and go at different times due to family and business obligations. My average stay is 2-3 days, while my husband's is usually 3-4 days, and occasionally longer.

450 miles door-to-door. We try to make it at least once every 4-to-6 weeks during the off season to check on things.....and to enjoy the lake. Most often, 3-4 day stays. Usually we spend a week in the spring and a total of 3 different weeks at the lake during the summer months.

Not sure why your curiosity leans in this direction but we're 75 miles ( up from 60 a month ago) and make it almost every weekend...a minimum of twice a month at worst. Like to keep the place sparkling...:)

It takes us 1 hr and 45 minutes from SW metro atlanta. I've never checked the odometer. We go almost every spring / summer weekend unless we can't. in the winter we go about once or twice a month.

Maybe a mile or mile and a half. Been there twice today to let my boy fish.

18 seconds, at least twice a day. Less if I tumble down the hill :)

About 60 miles roundtrip. Not nearly often enough! Usually spend a couple of days a week in Summer, and much less in winter.

spend as many days as possible at the lake, just wish instead of being at the lake it was ON the lake. Always chores to do when I'm there. But I do get a few hours each time on the boats.

328-miles R/T, 2.5-hrs each way if taking 75s to 285s to 85s below the airport. Shorter if take 50 at exit 77 inside the border at Lanett.
Stay from Friday-nite to Sunday-nite except on holidays when its extended, e.g., Memorial Day weekend. Staying at the lake usually involves gunkholing, rarely staying at the slip unless a major party is occurring at the Yacht Club.
Put the boat in the water in March, put away first-week in November.

For the next couple years, may have to increase the drive-time by another 30-mins. due to the boys just turning 10-mos. yesterday.

About 40 miles from Deatsville. Dont have a place on the lake, but have tons of friends that have lake homes without access to a good ski boat, so we share. Usually stay Fri. night - Sun. night in the spring/summer. Rarely go otherwise.

Now thats a true out-of-towner who's dedicated to the lake, to come during the Winter.

I absolutely love it during the winter. Quiet, peaceful. Somewhat different than Atlanta.

We live on the lake during June and July. 2-3 weekends in May, August, and September, and once or twice a month for the rest of the year. Once we boot the kids out, we plan to be full time.
