We just spent a wonderful week at Burke Cove. The most wonderful vacation spot we have ever been. But, my family got into an argument about where the Scrushy Lake home is. We boated to a huge mansion very near Kowiligia marina and one sister swore that was it. I don't think it was. Does anyone out there have a picture they can post of the mansion? One sibling said it had been bought by Courtney Cox Arquette but I think Scrushy still owns it. Can anyone settle the argument for us? Thanks, Libby

Did you pass a golf course on the way to see it? House on point, boat house to right, guest pavillion house to left from water.??

Last we heard, the Government had possesion of his property until everything is settled. Last year J-lo and Ben bought the place, year before - Julia Roberts. I heard Jack Lalayne the juicer guy bought it and was going to open a juice bar. (see if that spreads)

if the house I mentioned isn't it, sound like you got a lot of 'know it alls' for realatives..LOL

Scrushy mansion is in Willow Point area just north of Willow Point golf course (on your right as you travel north by boat from Kowliga). There is an aerial photo of it in the photo section of this website. What you saw near Kowliga was probably one of the many mansions in the Trillium developement.

If your west of Kowaliga Marina looking at the south side of the lake, its Trillium.....You need to head a few miles north through big Kowaliga to find corporate waste and abuse on such a grand scale.

Look on the "maps" section of this site, click on the Kowaliga section, and click on the camera near Willow point. That is it.

There are many nice homes in Trillium, but nothing compares to this.

Thanks for the info. I sure envy you folks who have a place at LM. I have been camping with my family there for about 40 years, back to the days of "Deputy Dog" at Wind Creek. We are older now and seek out more modern accomodations. HEHE! We have found Burke Cove to be wonderful for our huge family of 29. I love the folks at LM. They are so much friendlier than the folks at Lake Eufaula which is only about 45 minutes from our home in Ozark. We will keep coming back to watch our children and grandchildren follow our tradition of jumping off Chimney Rock.

There is one more mansion in the slough to the right of Scrushy's mansion that appears to be as big or bigger. It looks like a Mediterainian village. Anyone know who built this one? I heard they have over $30 million in it.

I personally think it is gaudy, pretentious, and out of place. It would be a better fit for the ocean.Too much stone, just doesn't look like a fresh water lakeside house.

I like the understated, humble elegance of Villa Scrushy much better.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Sorry....I couldn't resist :)

Violet is great. One of the sweetest ladies I have ever had to do business with. Her husband was so great about making arrangements for us to use the barge. By the way, Violet's daughter is having triplets. I can't wait till next Labor Day so that we can get to see them.
