Hello all. I'm new to the boards and just had a few questions. We had a place in the gold villas at Stillwaters that we just sold and we are closing on one of the new condos on the water in July. SO we are buying some jetskis to go along with the fun. I am from Birmingham and am familiar with all of the usual restaraunts in Dadeville, but was wondering if there are any good ones that we could get to by water. And I was also curious if anyone new of any jetski clubs on Lake Martin. Well that is all for now! Thank you!

Welcome Auburngirl. Love your name however, I don't think Siggy will approve. Just kidding Siggy if you are lurking. Sinclair's @ Kowliga(sp?) is pretty good. The Cove is right there at Blue Creek if your boat can get under the bridge.

Yeah we have eaten at both. Actually drove and at at Sinclair's on Memorial Day. I've eaten at the Cove once and sadly don't plan on it again because of the service. We were there for an hour and 1/2 before our food came out. And they weren't even busy. The waitress had forgotten to put in our order, didn't bother apologizing or anything. Only reason we knew she forgot is we over heard her say to another waiter, "Oh oops still haven't put theirs in yet". And the food was really good to, to bad she ruined it for us.
Oskar's still ranks #1 for me in the Dadeville area. Can't beat her crab claws and Chocolate Fritters!

Oh my Gawd. You had to mention those critters. Best I have had anywhere. Oskars happens to be my favorite as well. We don't do fried food at home anymore so, I really look forward to my Oskars fix. Had the same experience as you at the Cove. Will never go back.

I don't know if there are any REAL jetski clubs on the lake, but Memorial weekend, I saw this "gang" go by. haha Looked just like a Harley Gang, except they were on jet skis. There were about 10-12 (mostly grownups)of them. Looked like they were having a blast, just riding around following the "leader of the pack". Don't know if this is what you're looking for, but it looked fun! Bet if you got your black ski vest out, they'd let you in!

IF YOU WANT A CHEAP DATE THE PIZZA AT STILLWATER MARINA IS GOOD. CAN PARK YOUR SKIS AND WALK TO THE MARINA STORE. EAT OUTSIDE AND ENJOY THE VIEW.

Chucks Marina is about a 5 minute ride just across the water. Best pizza in Alabama.

Sounds like you have it all together....no Cove....yes Oskars. You don't need us...:)
Welcome to the lake although jetskis are prohibited. Sorry. Gotta go to Lanier or a private pond to use those things anymore. What can I say. Government rules. You could be locked up for decades if caught on one of those hideous things.
Can't bleeve nobody asked for your measurements....:)

Thank you everyone. And real funny about the jetskis. Someone better tell Sonny Fomby! HAHA. May have to try Chuck's Pizza! Next time I will be down there is July 22nd, forever away. Hopefully this message board will keep me from going stir crazy and wanting to be there!

Well if she's a perfect 10 in every category, she deserves some type of award, IMHO.

And my platform would be PAB, People Against Bammers. Poor souls need help. And for the talent competition, largemouth bass fishing. Hopefully I would at least be a top 10 finalist.

Oh she'll get one. The People's Champions always make their own rings and even have lavish parades to celebrate. I went to one in Utah last season. . .oh wait, no i didn't. They didn't have one. Oh well, lol, thats tears under the bridge now I guess. Win, lose, or tie every game---I sure do look forward to the upcoming season. Best of luck.

You were talking about football? I had no idea! Oh well, good luck to the bammers as well (except on Nov. 19).

Better to be The People's National Champions than The People's Laughingstock. Maybe if y'all dedicated as much energy into hiring a good coach as you do into trying to get TENNESSEE put on probation because Y'ALL cheated, you might be having a little more success on the field.

Naw, I'm just funnin' with you. I'm sure that what's happening is that you're finding out that it's not as easy to win when you don't get to cheat.

And what's a Bama fan doing ragging anybody about facetious National Championships? Have you checked the trophy case in Tuscaloosa recently? 1941: 8-2, finished ranked #20 (fifth among ranked SEC teams), got one first down in the bowl game. Yeah, that's worthy of a National Championship.

Easy now. Calm down. We were just joking around. . . .something the rest of them apparently picked up on. If you are sooooo concerned over a WWII National Title, dont count it in your count. . .you can say Bama only has 11 any time you want if it makes you feel better.

Alabama is not losing because of bad coaching, they are losing because of lack of depth caused by scholarship reductions. . .the purpose of the NCAA punishment. In your biased opinion what do you think Bama's record would have been last year had Brodie Croyle, Ray Hudson, Tim Castille, and Ken Darby not gone down with injuries?

Forget it, dont even give an insight on that. . .its water under the bridge. A new season is around the bend and AUs stable has been thinned out by the NFL. What is your biased opinion on what AUs record would have been last year without Ronnie Brown, Carnell Williams, Jason Campbell, Junior Rosegreen, or Carlos Rogers?

As for Tennessee, they will get what they deserve. I am fine with serving our punishment from the NCAA, but I am not fine with the way that it all went down. Lynn Lang openly confessed that offers were made by Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Alabama. In this instance, it is unfortunate for U of A that alot more money flows out of Tuscaloosa than out of Knoxville, Fayettville, or Lexington. . . Fulmer apparently snitched when he reached the bottom of his wallet. Do you think he will be sweating when his bus rolls into T-town this October?

Aww - shucks - I was hoping to meet one of our new neighbors. We have a jet ski that we keep at Harbor Pointe Marina on their Seadoo ports, so maybe we will see you out on the water.

Sinclairs Kowliaga is excellent most nights. Always has great grouper. Service is great - kitchen's a little slow. Be patient and have another drink while you wait.
