This thing created by the storm has finally caught up with us. Mother nature does not play games. You build a city that is 10 or 20 ft. below sea level. it`s gonna happen.Put casonios on a barge with a 25 ft. surge, just dumd. Looters, open season, Gas, park the vessels.

You are correct JIM. It (New Orleans) is now the Atlantis of the Western hemisphere.

For the looters - How long can you thread water with a new TV under one arm and a cell phone with dead batteries in the other hand?

It will all play out. This is bad, and i feel very sorry for the loss of life and property.

I think that property values will now go down for the Coast simply because of the inconvenience and property insurance prices.

Lake Martin property just went up by ten to twenty percent..

Gas prices just went up by how much ???

Feb, no disrespect intended, but this is not about the acclerated price of property on Lake Martin, as you are a owner of one. I think in view of the fuel crisis all gasoline sells to marinas should be stopped. But then the dumd a`ss that do not care will carry his cans to a station and fill them up,which should be stopped ,the fuel should go in a car not a can.

You are correct JIM. The price of property is not an issue here. Human life is the issue.

Talk about crisis? I just spoke with a close friend just outside of New Orleans... The stranded people actually shoot at the rescue boats that are trying to rescue them. They want to steel the boats to get out. Even shooting at helicoptors. (guess they will shoot them down, then fly them out of there.?????) I am confused at this for now, but will leave my opionions to myself. What I see on t.v. is puzzling. "Leave" says the gov.!!! Did they? yea, some! Just venting for now. Law enforcement is looking for volunteers, with boats to get people out... would you go under those circumstances? My .02 worth.

There is actually a sad side to people not getting out Catboat, one of the news channels said alot of the people who stayed couldn't afford gas or transportation to leave. That might be hogwash, but I don't doubt that some people just couldn't leave.

Now the morons that could have left.. thats a different story.

So, what are us prepared people supposted to do with our backup generators? Fill up the car and suck the gas out at the generator site?

God help anyone who is cut off from the road and has to ferry people by boat. You would not sell them gas. I hope they can paddle.
