What do these people have to do with Alabama laws and what incentives do our representives have for doing what they want? Lake Martin is on the fast track to becoming a residential lake. It will be like living in town. Twenty five miles per hour when you are passing in front of peoples houses. The old stigma of " let's go to the lake and raise hell " will die and the lake will be cluttered with laws, even though APCO is suppose to provide places for the public to come to and enjoy " nature?". I remember when you went to the " fish camp " or the " lake cabin ", you were truely in Gods country. Peace

This is not about Georgia developers. Yes, the lake is changing and so will the residents and visitors. It can't be about ME anymore, it's about US and what is best for all of us. Who the hell said APCO had to supply you with a place to do as you please.

Lake Martin is heaven on earth, treat it as such.

I was wondering where I had heard that term recently, and then I remembered: http://www.savelakemartin.com/lml.htm

For years we would go to my uncles " fish camp " which still stands on Currys Point. It is the last of the old cabins still standing. Also Currys Fish Camp was razed to make way for one of the fine new " progress " homes. Now the nice quiet cove has several new cabins in it. If you want a treat take your camera and take a picture of my Uncle George Carrolls 'fish camp " cabin. It will make a fine picture to hang on your wall to remind every one of the fish camp days. After you round Currys Point and head towards Chucks, it will be on your right.

The federal government requires APCO to provide public boat ramps and parks for the public.

Replacing the old fish camps with new cabins is sad, but tolerable. What I hate is when they replace the old-- or undeveloped-- with a giant house, and they cut down all the trees on the property so everyone can see the house.

Unfortunately, too many of the GOBs have the same attitude as the guy in the link.

One of the rules the guy had that started Stillwaters was that you had to leave everything as natural as possible when you built. You even had to have the paint or stain approved.

Key words in my reference to APCO was ...."do as you please." What YOU do at the lake affects everyone else at the lake.
