Open to suggestions- here's our deal. My spouse and I are thinking about trading in our runabout for a cuddy cabin so that we can spend the night on the boat in the wet slip. So far so good. Here's the problem- I am a healthy person except for one medical issue- Meniere's disease, a type of vertigo. I get motion sick.
I love boating and have done it for years, but never tried spending the night on a boat. I curb motion sickness with ginger complex pills. Would they work all night?
We want to try to spend the night on a cuddy cabin to see if I could "take it" before we begin looking in earnest. We are middle age, quiet, non-smoking, non-drinking adults. Does anyone know of someone who would allow us to spend the night on their boat (we would pay.)

I did not mean to offend anyone, or to begin a sparring match. This is a serious inquiry. We can look at cabin cruisers all we want, but until we see if I can handle the overnight thing in a cuddy cabin, we won't feel comfortable making such a huge investment. A small vessel is different from cruise ships, or even the large yachts my nephews captain.
This is something we really want. We were simply hoping that someone with a boat in a slip somewhere would rent it to us for a night. We weren't even looking to take it out, though we are both licensed.

For the symtoms of "benign positional vertigo ", Diazepam is commonly prescribed. Less powerful drugs are also useful. See your Doctor.

Since I have suffered from this ailment for more than 30 years, I am more than acquainted with all current medical aid available that would be helpful to me. The only way a doctor will be of assistance in this matter is if she or he will rent a vessel for me to use for one night.
Please do not respond to this post unless you will help me. These silly responses are making me ashamed of my Lake Martin neighbors.

Are you interrested in a cuddy cabin, or a cabin cruiser? Cuddy cabins have limited amenities, and are considerably smaller than cabin cruisers. Of course the prices vary according to the amenities/size. I know of a cruiser for sale on the lake and I am passing this message on to the current owner. He may intertain an offer to you.
