I have a friend who is going to do some remodeling for me at the lake. I have a general idea of what I would like to accomplish but would like to get some professional advice on plans and design. The place is basically a cabin turned into a quasi/home and we want to keep it simple because it makes us feel good. Basically, I want to upgrade the interior and pretty up the elevation. And, tidy up the landscaping.

Question-does anyone know someone who can assist me with this? I am willing to pay for the service, I just do not want someone to come in and go over the top. Just want to nice it up a bit. Also, would like the same advice on landscaping.

Any references out there?

noagenda, I have a question for you. I am not trying to be antagonistic, just curious. Why is it that 95% of all your posts are asking assistance for some typs of service which is responded to by someone else and leads to what appears to be a marketing ploy? I understand this may all be circumstancial, just seems more to me like an agenda :-)

Is this what they call stirring the pudding?

Please do not take offense, this was only my observation.

I am not sure that your comments deserve a response but I will give you one anyway. I have been a participant on this forum for 8 years.

I am currently looking to remodel my cabin and I respect the advice of some of the forum members, particularly those who have history and experience at the lake, combinued with a reputation of serious dialog relative to the various subjects discussed on this forum. If someone wants to offer a response, they do so own their own recognisance.

I live in Atlanta and do not frequent the lake as much as I would like due to business and family responsibilities. I have recieved good advice from members on this post. Usually, directly to me and I appreciate their input and will respect their reponses through confidentiality.

As for your suspicions of a marketing ploy, I have no idea as to what you are referring to and would suggest that your perceptions are not reality.

Those memebers on the forum who have a history here, know that I speak when I have something to say and try not to engage in unproductive dialog out of respect for the forum and its members.

As I stated before, I was not attempting to slight you, or question your motives. I was just stating an observation.

I am sure that others have gained a great deal of insight by your requests for assistance. It was just an observation by me that alot of message strings have something to do with a request for service or product which is followed up with someone else directing to a place of business (restaurant, mechanic, etc.). I do not wish to negate the validity of this practice, I just was identifying that I find amusement in that just below the surface it appears to be marketing (advertisements) even if is purely coincedental.

By the way, I will be asking for help on here in the future also. Feel free to confront me when I do :-)

I think that since you have spent a considerable amount of time enjoying the lake that I would like to hear some of your tales. Do you have a fish story, or maybe a wild animal story? I myself would rather read about the good experiences everyone has at the lake than all the bickering about noise, erosion, cost of property, etc. Maybe I am too much of an optimist.
