There are very few people that love a good steak any more than I do! I want to share with everyone the best steaks I have found in this part of the country and that is Carmack"s in Notasulga. We have been buying the vast majority of our meats there for many, many years. They custom cut the steaks or whatever else you want or they have a great meat counter. We have our ribeye steaks cut to an inch and a quarter and get as many as 15 to 20 at a time to be put in the freezer. Their prices are better than the chain stores and the quality is absolutely fantastic. We can almost cut them with a fork and I am not kidding. If any of you are interested, post and I will give you directions from highway 49 starting at Blue Creek. My wife just asked me "are you giving away our secret?" This secret is too good not to share!

Is it off of Hwy 14? If not what are the directions?

Thanks,
Edge

Please send me the directions - I'd like to go by when we tailgate at Auburn next season. Thanks.

Since I live off hwy 34 towards Pleasure Point, this is the way that I go. Take hwy 49 south to Reel Town. Turn to the left just before Reel town high school. Continue about 4 miles which dead ends at hwy 14. Turn left and continue about a mile. You will pass two of Kings pecan sales places. There is a "Tanning sign" on the right which I believe is hwy 82. I apologize if that is not the right number. Turn to the right and continue straight for about 2 miles. This will dead end with a stop sign. Turn left and continue about a mile to stop sign. You will see a fairly large metal building on the corner on your right. That is Carmacks, my steak place. Their phone number is 334-257-3441 in case you want to call ahead of time or you might want to go and test first. I always have called and they have everything ready when I get there. Tail gateing at AU is great fun!

For any on the forum who may be Atlanta residents, I'll put in a plug for Shields Meat market in Emory Village. Old school butcher shop that dry age their own beef. Ask for Gene and tell him to cut you some inch and half bone-in ribeyes. You won't regret it.
