Anchor Bay made some changes to the wet slips and getting out is ten times more dangerous now than it was. I was able to get out but had a difficult time getting back in. Unless changes are made, this will be my last time out and about until the water comes back.

Went diving on the old bridge span and at the rock. The water is very turbid right now for some reason. A lot more cloudy than it was on Oct 7th. Still above 70 so it wasn't too cold.

Overall, had a wonderful time on the water.

How is getting in and out of the wet slips "dangerous"? I don't use their slips but do put in and out there all the time. Sometimes I use a slip temporarily to go back the vehicle down....I am not understanding how the word "dangerous" applies. Can you explain?

They moved the slips about 15 feet to the east (closer to the peninsula). There are alot of huge concrete blocks just under the water which you won't see (unless you have a posted look-out). Also, it is very shallow that close to the peninsula, and now it is very narrow. I have heard that they are dredging a channel, but I thought it made sense to dredge first and then move the wet slips. But then its not my project (I am just helping fund it).

You won't be launching there anytime soon. the ramp is out of the water.

P.P. we went there saturday and saw the same thing. I would hate to have to go thru that channel in a large boat. My 19ft was bad enough..lol

I understand now...yea that little bend was getting shallow during the summer. I was thinking the actual act of getting in and out of the slips was what you were talking about. You are talking about getting out of the marina slu itself. Understood. I remember a while back....maybe Anchor Bay Don or someone posted that if the water did what was predicted the marina might just have to shut down because the water would be too low to get in. That poor lady who opened the BBQ place....she never stood a chance.

I guess the water levels prevented them from moving the slips to the eastern side of the peninsula this year. I had heard that the peninsula was going to be developed for the convenience of the wet slip owners once this move took place. Any word on the development?

Not sure how convienient it would be, but I heard the move was so they could use our current parking lot to extend the size of their dry storage building. There are some unfortunate issues that they are having to deal with. A little oversight and they wouldn't be in this situation.

Unfortunately the customers are the ones who suffer. Of course it is difficult to satisfy everyone, but sometimes its harder to find anyone who is satisfied......

My draft is only 25" (See link below for brochure quote on inboards). Thas kind of hard to believe seeing how 19 foot SeaRay 196 Sport is 35" with outdrive down...
