Does anyone have any easy ideas on how to rid my shore of those pesky weeds? I usually weedeat before the water rises but for whatever reason this year I waited too long.

I know there is an underwater rake that I have seen some places, does anyone have one of these or ever used one?

We have them in abundance also. If you can get your hands on one of the old-fashioned metal short-tined rakes, then you can fasten a long metal or wooden pole on it to use from the shore to rake them out of the water. (otherwise be ready to wade in and pull them out).

Good luck--

Yea, my hopes were that one of posters on here might have one and let me borrow or drink a beer while they watch me use it. My neighbor got in and pulled his and said it was no fun.....

Eventually I will get my two boys to do it with some supervision but right now I am having too much fun to slow down and figure out the easiest way to remove them by hand.

Thanks Blondie!

Maybe you could get this guy to do it and you could drink a beer while you watch him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsT3llwEL6M

The rake you're lookin' for is called a Lake Rake and you can get it from Overtons. About $90 but worth it. My suggestion is pull em' up, they'll stay gone alot longer. Fr8, I'm lookin' to buy a wakeboat, is your Supra a fairly new boat? how do you like it? Where did you buy it. I've looked at Malibu, and seen the Supra and Tige in the boat trader. I plan on stopping by Rambo Marine but I suspect the Mastercrafts may be out of my league.

Mastercraft is like the Mercedes of wake boats......

I looked for about a year and came down to the Supra and the Malibu........ For the money they are both excellent boats....... the way Lexus has a sister company with virtually same makeup just lower end models ....... Supra has Moomba,,,,,,,, The Hull is exactly the same and the features are similar but Supra is a more expensive product.....

Mine is the 04 Gravity Games version, I bought it used and am very happy with it. I can do just about anything I want in it or befind it. plus its got a 9 speaker stereo with sirius, built in cooler and lots of storage......

The only thing I would change is I would get a 24' next time...... Mine is just a 22' and holds 10 ppl 24' holds 16....... I dont want to carry 16 ppl but with a family of 5 when everybody has a friend or another family up I cant stand to leave someone on the dock.

I dont think you could go wrong with Supra or Malibu,,,,,, Malibu is a little more luxury and Supra is a little more meat......

PS - look for one with every option, its better to have an option you dont use than get one without and wish you had it.

All I need it for is skiing and my bro and I to try wakeboarding. My current boat doesn't have the torque to get me or my dad up on ski's (we're both in the 250 range). I really don't need an expensive boat but they sure are nice. I looked at some 24 foot Gravity Games Supra's and they have everything anyone would ever need. We stay pretty close to the house most of the time and occasionally make a run to Lay Dam (maybe every other week). I have to make a choice though. It's either a boat or a couple of SeaDoos. It will all boil down to what the wife wants.

Thanks for the info

Kevin

Check this website, they the link has listings of boats older than 5 years and its from a wakeboard site. Some of the boats seem like good deals and you never know what you might find.

Good Luck

Thanks Fr8. Looks like some good deals on there, but most are in BFE. I just heard from some in laws who are in the car business. They're going to Orlando next week to the sale. They're gonna get some selling prices on all wake boats. I really like the Wakesetter, but we'll see what they're selling for. My wife's cuz said that everything with a big motor (cars, trucks and boats) are going for nothing right now.

This weekend, Logan Martin boating center has many new and used boats in Inverness on 280 and I think they are desperate to get rid of them . they have a few wakeboats out there if you in the area.

they are in the old Food World Paking lot across 280 from Home depot

I didn't notice them on my way in this evening. I might stop by on the way home in the a.m..I know they had one of those 24 foot gravity games boats on boat trader (no price on it). I'm interested to see what these things are going for at auction.

They do not have (or did not have) that boat in Inverness. That is the size and model I want but th $60k + pricetag would make me have to get out and sell alittle more.

I paid less than $40 for mine and it was 2yrs old and whenever I do size up I will probably do the same and get a used one.

They do seem to hold their value after that initial plunge from the new price tag. Mine still is being sold out there for more than $35k with comperable hours.....

I too was looking to purchase a Wake boat...used if possible. I have a paid for '96 SeaRay in exc. shape. After the sticker shock at the boat show in February ai found the SeaRay rep and quized him.....this was a very reasonable alternative "Monster Tower" located in Georgia and installed locally at Skiers Marine my $60.000 upgrade turned into a $1,500.00 tower install!
My 18 year old says "it's Sweet!"

Not really an option for me. I have a 2007 Nauticstar deckboat with a Yamaha 90. I could upgrade to a 150 but I really don't want to. It's a great boat for cruising around and tubin' but it won't cut it for skiing or boarding of any kind. I may wind up in Cali for the rest of the summer so I may wait till winter or spring of next year.
