Have 61" Hitachi Projection TV, too large for us to move. Can anyone recommend a person that would come to the house to make repairs? We called Hitachi, but their nearest repairman was in Sylacauga and wanted amost $300 dollars just to pick it up and see IF they could find the problem. Thanks!

It sounds like it is time for a new TV. The cost to fix will probably approach $1,000, maybe more and you will still have a TV that is not HD. For under $2,000 you can get a 65" size plasma TV with a picture that will knock your socks off and takes up less room. If you don't need onve quite that big ... I bought a 50" plasma (Samsung) that I hung over the fireplace and I paid under $1,000. Bought it from Buydig.com and it included free delivery and no sales tax. It was a 720p but for the next few years, no matter cable or satellite 720p is pretty much the standard. 720p can also do 1080i. You pay much more for 1080p but unless you watch BluRay movies and some movies on Satellite are 1080p, then it is not worth the extra money. But 720p is becoming harder to find since most of the manufactures are moving to the 1080p standard. I have seen movies in both and you can see a small difference .... but either is a huge improvement over projection 420 lines that you have today.

New TV, but will end when sold out, or end of day.

URL: Good deal.

True, but with a $300 service call from Sylacauga I am assuming she is on the east side of the lake? What kind of reception do the people on the east side of the lake get (other than Satelite)?

Thanks to all who replied. Yes we are on the East side and have Charter Cable. We did check out Buydig.com , then went into Opelika/Auburn to compare prices. Buydig.com has the best prices, especially with no tax and free shipping.
