On October 9, 2007, the Dow Jone Average closed at its all time high of 14,164. Today, it closed at 8,579. This a loss of 39.5%. The Treasury is considering direct investments in banks, credit is tight and McCains biggest issue is Obamas ties to a 1960s radical.
Until Obama adequately replies, John McCain has every right to attack him on these grounds. However, until voters believe McCain understands their struggles and worries on the economy, it's likely they will dismiss as frivolous attacks on Obama's past relationships.
John, it is the economy!!!!!!!!

I do think given the current economic climate that all these disturbing relationships are secondary. what McCain really needs to do is to weave these relationships into the broader message that we can't trust Obama/Pelosi/Reid to fix a problem that they and other Democrats created (Frank, Dodd, Waters, etc.) with this abomination Community Reinvestment Act and the malfeasance of Fannie and Freddie.
The fact is he is swimming against an economic tsunami and the American people are not being told by the mainstream media that they are heading toward putting the arsonist in charge of putting out the fire and he has promised to use gasoline instead of water. A couple of Democrat strategists were quoted as saying the economy has done for Obama what he could never do, which is to pull ahead of McCain. As I said before, maybe we need another Jimmy Carter to give us a Ronal Reagan.

You like many liberals are happy about the market going down no matter what the impact on average americans and their retirement funds.
But with all your strong feelings and views ... why don't you ever answer a question with what you think? Are you afraid to share your personal view? You copy and paste and through things out that others have said.
How about sharing your thoughts on the question i presented to you?

Help me understand. The Bush Administration has been in office almost eight years. During the first six years he also had a Republican Congress and and in the seventh year - 2007 - the DJA hit an all-time high. After two years of a Democratic Congress we are now in another record setting DJA - going the other way. Did it take the Democrats two years to undo what the Republicans had done? Why are the Republicans being blamed for this crisis? I believe it is time to not only elect John McCain but to replace enough of the Democratic Congress to let the Republicans be in control again!!!!!
