Subject:   Corporate Jet Issue - Why do dems lie?
Date:   7/6/2011 4:37:29 PM

We have all started to hear the noise about corporate jets ... what you are not hearing is that this was part of the stimulus plan passed by an all democrat congress and signed in to law by Obama.  It was part a general acelerated depreciation to encourage investment.  There was nothing specific for just corporate jets.

Now Obama and the dems are acting like the republicans proposed and are trying to protect.   Now republicans are fighting back of all this BS and setting the record straight.   This is why nothing is getting down ... Obama and the dems are lying to influence people so they do not have to face the real problem ... over spending.

And yes, I think corporate jets are necessary for the security and efficient use of time for top corporate executives.  It is between the shareholds and BOD of these corporation.  They would have them with or without accelerated depr that the dems put in place on them.  But the facts are, orders for them went up due to the ability for faster write off ... which created jobs and helped the economy.  I guess Obama decided that is a bad thing.  But why do the tax payers have to pay for his planes and hellicopters, along with a private plane for the speaker of the house and chartered flights for senators.  Does Obama feel corporate executives that create jobs and pay taxes need less security or their time is less important?

I have a freind who is an hourly employee with a major manufacturer who has ridden the coorporate jets several times. He is a specialist in autonomous maintenence and has travelled to several other plants around the country for meetings and setting up new programs. He usually travels with coorporate types but never with the CEO or BOD. Use of the jets just make scheduling easier and cheaper for a day trip than trying to fly commercial.

I worked for a major company in Atlanta most of my career (no it was not Delta) and they dedicated two of their jets for shuttles to some of their major locations that employees had to go frequently.  It was much more cost effective, saved them time and money with rental cars, taxi's, waiting on commercial flights, security, etc.  If the flight was leaving at 4 or 4:30, you got to the runway at the facility 10 minutes before it was leaving, got on the plane and they took off.  then landed at Charlie Brown airfield where their hangers were in Atlanta and drive home.  It was great.

But, Obama would not understand that ... all business is bad is greedy ... since he has never worked in the private sector ... that is what he believes and is sticking with it.  That is why he supports unions so strongly ... the country made a mistake once ... I hope they have learned their lesson.  The two coasts elected him ... the heartland of america rejected him big time.

Subject:   Class envy.....preview of the 2012 elections

These are poll driven political maneuvers meant to improve Dems crumbling electoral chances in 2012. Pure desperation move that won't work this time. I wish the GOP would have the guts to trot out the guys that works at the FBO that services these aircraft, the mechanics that do their maintenance, the metal worker or avionics guys that build them, the insurance agent that insures them, the pilots that fly them, etc. and point out how Dems want them to lose their jobs....all over class envy. We saw who is really harmed by this kind of neanderthal politics with the luxury tax. Generates almost no income to the Treasury but costs lots of middle class people their jobs. Fortunately we are no longer at the mercy of the mainstream government media and the truth will be out there for all to see and this will fail miserably. Frankly, when unemployment is over 10% no one gives a flying flip whether someone flies a corporate jet or not. They want to get back to work. When the collapse of home prices reaches levels greater than the Great Depression, they could care less about accelerated depreciation. In fact, they are probably all for anything that gives businesses money to expand and hire. Considering the cost for each job created by the porkulus, the vast majority of which were gov't union jobs, was $238,000, people are beginning to see less government and more private enterprise is what we need. I can create a job that pays over $100K per year for $25,000 in cash. Let me and other small businesses keep their money and watch the economy begin to grow again. Sadly, it will take another bloodbath in Congress and a change in the White House to turn things around. HOPEless and CHANGE for the worse!!

In a past life, my responsibilities included oversight of multiple locations throughout a region. I, and 4 or 5 others, would board a jet, one of the 36 (6 dedicated to the international division)in the fleet, at 0610, and following a passenger drop in Tupelo, or Hammond, would be in the terminal here, or Troy, or Monroe GA, or Cullman, by 0830, Charleston, Savannah or Tifton by 0915. The jet would then head to central or south Florida. We all held exec titles, some retail, some logistics. Each of us gained TWO FULL DAYS by using corporate resources vs flying commercial. Some folks flew Monday with a return Thursday, others flew Tuesday with a return Friday, with multi stops each way. These jets had 70+% seat/mile utilization. and rarely sat for more than 24 hours. I can only imagine what our government, local, state or federal, would look like with similar efficiencies. The Chairman clearly has ZERO understanding of, or interest in, corporate asset utilization, ROI or ROA. No sin as this type of information is well beyond the grasp of the typical community organizer, and he is typical. Less than 500 days until the next election, 560 days until Perry and Rubio take the oath.
