Recently, I reported that my 14 jon boat was missing, probably due to the sudden rise of the water level in this "yoyo" year. Late Saturday afternoon, I looked across the shore and on the sandy beach sat a nice green boat. With binoculars I could tell it looked like mine, but was not sure.
Sunday morning we got as close to the area as we could with a 4-wheeler and there it was. the prodigal boat had come home! I took with me a paddle and life jacked, and rowed it home. Whew! I am too old for that. I told my wife that when the Prodigal son came home they had a big feast, that we should at least reward the Jon Boat with an 8hp four stroke motor. I am glad to have it home.

funny story, glad you found it.
Similar story for me: as a new lakehome owner I tried my best to prepare for the winter we are finishing up.
-I removed the bolted on ladder off the dock, slightly late as the water level dropped it put some incredible stress on the couple of boards it was attached to.
-Next, I went to remove the two jetski plastic drive on docks I received with the purchase of the house and dock. Only problem, I got interrupted after removing the tubing that goes through them and allows them to float up and down. They were sitting on mud, so I thought, no problem, I'll get them up to the shed next week. The next time I made it out to the lake they were gone, floated away after a storm had provided the lake with a lift in level.
Long story short - they reappeared and with a rope attaching them to a cleat on my dock. Seems my neighbor found them up-channel a bit and knew they were mine and brought them around and tied them off.
While we don't yet have jet skis to put on them, it was a heartfelt homecoming nonetheless...
