Has anyone had much luck with the gas buddy type fueling carts. The online reviews were very mixed. I was thinking of buying one and did not know much about them.

You can buy three 5 gallon tanks, a very nice 2 wheel wheelbarrow, and a quality no spill siphon kit for about half the price.

I bought my Dad the 28 gallon fuel caddy about 6 years ago and filled it up with gas for Father's day. You just need to make a cover for it so no-one will see it and do the "self service" thing while no-one's around. Works well!

I have one, 28 gallon I think. I have used it often, but it does take some work and commitment. (1) something to haul a tank that big (2) reasonable access to your pier or where you plan to put the gas in (3) my boat sits up too high for the siphon to work---I have not bought a pump for it yet. So I have to pull it up on a chase lounge chair to get it higher than the boat---that is a chore (4) it is ususally hot when you are doing all of this.

Awesome....we can fill up (well, at least half fill up) after we come over for fried green maters and beer! Keep the light on.

needs a nice level lot. 28 gallons is very heavy- about 7 lbs per gallon I think...

I guess I should have added more details. We used the fuel cart at our first LM house, but we've used it very little at our second purchased house on the lake. It's been sitting in our garage for over 5 years. Not real sure why we haven't used it. Our marina is much closer and easier to get gas.
