For anyone wanting to see our storm shelters, they are in!! We have 3 display models.... small, medium and large. We had alot of fun trying to figure out how to unload them off the 18 wheeler on busy Hwy 63 this weekend, but managed the job.
We put one in ground here at the farm for display this weekend. If anyone wants to come climb in one.... stop by. They are really cool.
After graduation weekend, I told my daughter I was going to lock myself into the shelter for peace and quiet.

(who does advertise on Lakemartin.com) I hope it is never truly needed unless such need is only for hiding from others.......I'll come take a look sometime. Email me a quote for the small one. (I'm in Eclectic)

Hey, McGill, you will need a larger one to hold the monster Big Green Egg of yours.

I figured he would just climb into the egg with a beer and hang on to the lid.... If he did get blown away from the nest - can you imagine the movie storyline???
|
I can always get a new egg and I figure I'll only need to be in a hole for a short time if one ever comes through here again.....I've actually been thinking of buying a 12 foot section of 5' diameter corrugated steel pipe and burying it in the hill by my garage.

Speaking of Big green eggs and storms. I saw a Big green egg along the shoreline after the storm. It was just rolling back and forth with the waves, not near anybody's house. It looked like it was in perfect shape. I wondered if it actually floated. Thought about grabbing it, but then I thought noooo, someone is really missing that egg and I'll bet they'll find it.
Next time you climb in your egg, be sure to take a picture for us and we'll be looking for you along the shoreline.

This is an incredible sighting. I never suspected a green egg would float. I thought more of it being a non-surfacing submarine. I bet it could play havoc with a boat prop or might even sink a grand fathered big boat like as if were the titanic.

there is a big hole on the bottom for air flow..... must have been sitting in the mud unless someone plugged that hole real good.

Therefore, it is a non-surfacing sub. Thanks for the sanity check.
