Had heard a lot about Kowaliga Idol from others so we ventured out this past Friday night to the Rodeo Club off Hwy 34 outside of Dadeville. Works similar to American Idol with judges, fan votes, prizes etc. Event begins at 8:00 PM and there is a $5.00 cover charge and they allowed underage guest as well (arm bands used to denote legal and underage guests).
They were down to 20 contestants and the talent was overall pretty darn good, with most participants being locals. Had country, rock, etc participants. Then after all performed 2 different songs throughout the evening the judges then cut to the field to 12 contestants. Must of been approximately 500 or so folks in attendance.
My understanding is this coming Friday night, February 24th is the finals and the top contestants will be named. It was a good time, the only issue was the Rodeo Club allowed smoking and about 10:30 or so we left due to the smoke filled room, but have to say other than that it was a good evening of fun and pretty good local talent.
Just thought I would pass along if anyone was looking for something to do on Friday, February 24th. As a fun time.

Sounded like a great thing to do until you mentioned the smoke filled room. I wonder if the contestants would like it to be smoke free to save their voices??

I was thinkin' that although APC may have a legal limit to dock length, that the rules do not apply at The Exit Inn or Rodeo Club or whatever...
