I will post a complete run down on my blog tomorrow but the short story is that nothing sold. First they auctioned off the waterfront "Island" or point portion, individually and as a whole. They studied the prices they got and then announced that they would not sell to any winner.  Then they auctioned the other waterfront portion ( to the left when in the water, by the 2 new homes).  Prices of that new home was higher but the lots were lower there.  They didn't announce "we're not going to sell" like they did on the first one, but they said they would call all auction winners by noon on Monday. My guess is they won't sell them and will try to counter offer the bid winners, but that's just a guess. 45 minutes before the auction started I had a JP King rep approach me and tell me that I couldn't video anything, not even the pre auction festivities.  Called in her boss Kristi King to back her up, so I kindly obliged.  Then right before the auction started, they paused the whole thing while Ms. King straight came over to me and asked me, and me alone, if I was audio recording it. Of course I was not.  Then she went back up to her table, sat down, nodded to the auctioneer, and they cranked up.  It was pretty uncomfortable there for a minute.

Wow. You must know something.  Me, I wish they could put it back like it was.

Thanks for the update.  I look forward to you blog about it.  Will it be encrypted so King and Aliant will not know what you post?

Assuming there was live bidding (vs. written) since there was an auctioneer, what was the range of bid prices for the various lots/houses?

First group to be bid was the "island", house on point hi bid 300k, other house 215k, individual lots on island went from 67.5 to 85k. Total was about 1.21 million. Aliant rejected these bids. A bid was entered for the whole island, undeveloped, for 1.35 million. No word on whether that bid was accepted.

Next was the cottages at eagle point which was the one new house and the 8 lots adjacent. New house went for 390k, lots ranged from 67.5 to 75k.

Finally on the 24 interior lots high bids ranged from 2k to 6.5k.

It was then announced that Aliant was not ready to accept any bids at that time and would be in touch Monday around noon. I was high bidder on a few of the interior lots. I was told this afternoon that Aliant was not going to accept the interior lot bids right now because they had an offer to purchase all interior lots in their entirety and they would get back with me in a few weeks. I have no idea if they accepted any of the waterfront lot bids.

Thank You, I think the bottom line was what most of us were curious about.

Thanks for the info. We were not able to make it to the auction but very interested in the results. Our cabin is on the dirt road loop just before Water's Edge.

My friend was the winning bidder on one.
Alaint callled him Monday and told him he could have it for like $25 more than his winning bid... He told them they had 24 hours to accept the bid he place or forget it... (so typical of that group)

Anyone notice the Alaint sign came down over the weekend???   (Main branch 280)
