This is about the only forum that seems to have a little activity so I have to ask this question:  Why
bother with those unused threads?

I imagine it costs Bruce very little to keep them once they are up so why not.  As to why this one gets so much attention, I think it because Lake Martin people may be more invested in and prouder of the lake we are blessed to live on and around.  Not taking anything away from any of the others, but they pale in comparison.

then there is the fact that some of us have been posting and playing here for about 15  years now and have gotten to know each other and the webmaster and each tries to support the others when we can.

The Lake Martin forum is used daily. In fact, it was used so much that a few years back the webmaster started adding  new categories that would take issues unrelated to the lake to another venue (those categories, as in this one called Off-Topics, are seen by users from all lakes connected to lakesonline.com). I don't know why the forums are so sporadic for other lakes, but as Lifer said it's very popular through our community.

Now I understand.  I have a place on Weiss and by virtue of the lake levels I stumbled upon these forums.  I thought that this was specific to Weiss Lake.
Thanks for the clarification.

Your specific lake forum is a great place to discuss such topics, but you need users to get things started. If the forum gets used on a regular basis by 5-10 people, more will join in. If you have some friends on the lake, I suggest you all get togeather and start posting on a regular basis (even if you talk on a regular basis). Talk about several topics concerning your lake. Talk about fun stuff, local restaurants, attractions, marinas, boating rules and even controversial subjects such as wakes and speed zones. Over time, others will join in and things will get rolling....then it will benefit your lake and the community. There are hundreds of people that follow the Lake Martin forum on a regular basis and this is how it all got started.

OK  that reminds me; I forgot tomatoes....u gotta talk about tomatoes and veggie growing techniques. You will also need a designated mater grower to share a premium crop with devout followers (or at least describe it in detail it to make others jealous). How are our little babies coming along, ML? I have bacon waiting in the freezer.

You are right about the inactivity on the other forums. I am on Lake Weiss, I just looked at the "Weiss Lake Fishing" topic today and the last time it had action was almost 3 years ago.  I posted on it anyway.  I think I will make a point of posting on my lakes forum more often now even if I am the only one.  I am proud of Lake Weiss too, We have been on it for about 17 years now. Lots of changes.  I enjoy reading the Off Topic forum, you guys get some heated topics going sometimes.

I would think Lake Weiss Fishing Forum would be HOT right now with Crappie coming in soon. Weiss is known as a very good Crappie lake, or used to be. Has that changed??
