Just stick your thermometer in the water, leave it exposed for about a minute, and you should get a pretty good estimate of the temps.  ;-)

Other than asking for feedback, I don't know of any website that provides temps (maybe Bruce will see this as a hint), and temperatures will vary greatly depending on things like location and water depth.

I get this request often. Not just from Lake Martin, but other lakes. I bought a system to take readings but have not had time to implement it getting the data available on the web. The system I bought is wired. They make wireless systems but at a much greater cost. This post provides incentive to get back on that project. :)

Thanks guys...i would love to be able to walk out and check, but that would eat alot of gas driving to and from the lake 2 hours each way...hahaha i was just curious as i am going down in a couple weeks (knowing it will be too cold to get in) but just curiousity of the cat HAHA thanks guy and have a great day!

Invest in a wet suit or better yet a dry suit. Then you can swim year 'round.

According to Maddog, it is NEVER too cold to jump in the lake.
