Primer for politicians, appointed officials, and government workers caught in the act:  Prove to us that you have your position because you are competent.   Own up to the wrong you did, or that occurred under your leadership.  Do not defer, do not plead ignorance, do not beg the question, do not blame others, do not parse the words, do not make up the facts .  Share the truth, the circus has to end.
