Just about sunset from west to east.  Was still pretty bright out.
Burned bright white and green.  Best I've seen in 15 years.
Internet says high copper content would burn green.
Natural or space junk?

My wife and a few others were sitting out on the dock and came running in to tell us they had seen it. They said they could here the burning sound as it came through. I here that over the next few days we could see more of them.

Saw it when we heading North on I-65, not sure what is was, and if the timing made it appear as it did...  It looked like something with an afterburner running, but when we got home, I found out that D.C. was still there.

Didn't see it but heard some big satellite was supposed to come down this weekend. Maybe that was it.

We were taking a short boat ride at dusk and were delighted to see the meteor. Never seen one at dusk that lasted so long. Feel lucky!

I can imagine, we only had visibility for a couple of seconds due to the trees...

My wife and I were watching the 10:00 WSFA news Saturday night, 9-28-13, and Eric Snitil reported some meteors being observed over Alabama.  I went outside my house on the south side of Blue Creek and definitely saw one about 10:20 PM.  It was almost exactly to the North West, with a vertical track starting about 20 degrees above the horizon and ending about 10 degrees above the horizon. The skies were almost perfectly clear that night and the low humidity made for excellent visibility.  I did not detect any colors. It looked like the meteors I observed during the Perseid Meteor Shower on 8-11-13.  This sounds different from the others mentioned here.  Did anyone see this one?
