If you find a solution let me know.  Great practice with a tennis racket.  I sprayed them a time or two in years past, but I don't think it did much good.  I have cedar trim, easy digging for them, and they love it.  Now Red Wasps are a different story.  Can't stand them either.

It's more fun with a 12ga and small bird shot.....the challenge is where to aim and when to pull the trigger.

Swat 'em to the ground with your cap...stomp 'em whilst they are still confused...

There is some carpenter bee spray at Floyd's.  Spray it in the hole.  The female will stagger out drunk and fall out.

The male will come back soon and contaminate himself and die.  Then buy a wooden dowel that fits the holes.

Cut several short dowels and hammer them into the holes a day or two later.

Seemed to work for me in my boathouse.

Gun works great, but I now need two new windows on the house, rear window on the truck and engine cover for the pontoon...

You can easily build your own.  Google traps for carpenter bees.  I purchased two from pest control ( Rebel ) at work before I goodled them.  Works somewhat.  The exterminator said home solution is mix up 1 cup of vinegar to a gallon of water and spray wood.  Works for awhile.  Vinegar and water are cheap.

Good advice above!!  I called a bee expert, yes they have those.  He waited till sunset when the bees go in their holes for the night, then he sprayed, the next day I had a yard full of dead capenter bees.  If they only followed instructions, they drill the cleanest most perfect holes I have ever seen.

My bee trap has caught exactly three bees in two years.  Not effective for me.  Spraying the holes work, but some holes not accessible to spray.  Helps to fit a small flexible tube to spray can.

Trying to shoot the bees out of the air with a can of spray is expensive and low result, but it works a little.  Low number of kills/can.

Finally, I used a bb gun and killed about 7 within an hour around my wooden rail boat trailer.  Need to be within about 8 ft or closer, and take a lot of shots.  Best kill/$ yet.

I'm going to buy a cheap badmitten or tennis racket and try that.  Neighbor says works good.
