Agreed. I haven't bought any bread for a long time now.  Home made is so much better. I make hb or hot dog buns on order.  Use two recipes.  One can be done in one hour, another takes 2 hours. Just depends on how much notice I have to make em.  Always up for grilling unless it is too windy. Btw, I buy the 50# ConAgra bakers bread at Costco for $15.00.

They do look real good.  Did you use egg wash while baking?  I use the egg whites which gives the buns that golden brown look, and give the yokes to the cats.

I brush on a little butter a few minutes before they come out. This is a sourdough recipe and I  have also quit buying bread....if Cat had a sammy on one of these he'd be begging for more.

LOL, in my world it's a 50+ divorced flight attenndent that has a house full of felines and flies a double schedule to keep em' well supplied in kibbles and bits.....not that there's anything wrong with that....In your world, lord only knows....hmmmm
