OK, I really didn't have a dog in this hunt since the Dayton Flyers lost in the second round but the officiating in the second half last night was abysmal.  I could easily list ten bad calls that made the difference in the game.  If the NCAA doesn't address this issue it will hurt the integrity of the game.  Having said that, Duke's freshman guards were crazy good last night.  Had Decker not been so off and the officials not so bad in the second half Wisconsin would have easily won.

The integrity of the game? How about making walking illegal again and stop hanging from the goal like a

I fully agree with both posts above

1.  There is all this hoop la about LOOK AT THAT BLOCK.  The tall guy does block swat the ball to the stands, but is it still a foul if you rake across the guys arms while hitting the ball.

2.  Defense blocking vs Offense charging.  Was an issue when the game was slower, is even more so today.  But if the defensive guy is MOVING and the offensive guy does not karate chop the defense out of the way, then it is BLOCKING.

3.  The only way I can see the no calls on walking is How to interpret when the dribbler actually takes "possession" of the ball.  But, yes, walking college is as bad or worse than when I used to watch NBA

I had Wisconsin in the LM Sports Forum pool, and I thought they had it at one time.  But, had Wisconsin won, my best possible finish would have been third.  That tells you how bad my other picks were.  I think in the Wisconsin just put so much into that game on Saturday night that there was nothing left in the tank.  Dekker and the big guy (Kominsky or something like that) missed so many shots.

Is it possible that Duke just played a better game?  I watched it and I think they did, on that given night.

I think that is what I said about that game in the last sentence.  I left our the word "end" but still the point that Wisconsin did not do so well.

The comments about officials still stands, however.

I think it was a very close game and no doubt Duke's guards played a great game but if you compare the officiating in the first and second half you have to admit it was totally different and very much in Duke's favor.  If they had called the game the same I am thinking Wisconsin wins.  But its all moot other than the righteous indignation by Badger fans.

The only basketball I watchis the final two minutes of a championship game.  Everything else is so irrelevant.  So I was watching the last seconds of the NCAA championship game and there was a questioned out of bounds play.  The TV replays clearly showed a last second touch by the Duke player but it had been called Duke ball and the officials didn't overrule it, even after review.  All I can say is the TV replay wizards must be more skilled than those on the officiating crew.  I do echo the sentiment, however, that they just don't seem to call traveling any more.  Seems they take several steps before commencing the dribble.
