Keep in mind there are currently at least 4 to 6 million Syrian (about as many people as in the whole state of Alabammie) refugees as you read Mr Trump's solution:

"In Syria, take a big swatch of land, which believe me you can get for the right price today.  You take this big swatch and you don't destroy all of Europe.  What I'd like is build a safe zone...it's here.  Build a big beautiful safe zone and you have whatever it is so people can live and they'll be happier."

Mighty big chunk of land.  Who does he buy it from?  Who provides the funds?  What do the refugees do until this massive huge (Trumpisms) project, even bigger than any Trump Cassino, is completed?  What do the refugees do once they are in the "President Trump Happy Zone"...how do they earn a living, will they have to be able to buy guns after a cursory background check, Will this zone have a wall around it the way Mexico will have, Who will govern this zone, who will pick up the garbage and deliver the mail?  Will they be allowed to have mosgues or only churches...whichever, who will build and pay for them...if this place has several million "happy" inmates there will have to be more than1 or 2?

And most of the people on this forum would vote for this guy if the only other choice was Obama or Hillary...or for that matter anybody with a D after their name not to mention several current candidates with an R!!

Maybe this country is going insane!

I've heard Donald say some pretty weird things lately.  Maybe he needs to take a break from campaigning and get some rest.  Although there was that Egyptian that wanted to buy an island and create a safe zone for Syrian refugees.....

What does the red cross do?  What are refugee camps?  How is trash handled there?  Scale is the only difference.

Have you ever spent any time in a refugee camp?  Neither have I, but I know a Palestinian Christian minister who has and it ain't where you want to be...even for a visit.  I understand they are great recruiting grounds for ISIS and similar groups though.

Of course you are right, scale is the difference...the big difference.  If you think it is possible to ever handle the refugee situation facing this old world to day can ever be solved by "happy safe zones" then l want to talk to you about a beautiful gulf front lot in Nebraska I am willing to sell.  It would be a great place to put up 20 or 30 thousand!!

I am really surprised at the lack of empathy for those Syrian refugees on the part of the US public.   During the summer, we were all watching them piled up at the borders of southern Europe and were wishing they could find a way to safety.    Only a few weeks later, have we changed our minds so completely that we now see them as an evil army?  

We should be practical about this.   The Middle East is de-populating, and we can't just tell those people to walk back to Syria.   One thing is sure to my way of thinking... if the US and Europe don't provide enough humanitarian support, protection and assistance necessary for those people to integrate into host countries, we will surely encourage growing radicalism in poverty-stricken refugee camps scattered across southern Europe, Turkey and the Middle East.    Those people aren't going back to Syria any time soon, they left because they were pretty sure they couldn't live there anymore.

Its certainly not a good idea to feed the Daesh monster with more refugee camps....

There is absolutely nothing inappropriate or offensive to anybody in any way in his post.  If you don't agree stand up and post a descent...don't show your intolerance, not to mention your anonymous axx, by flagging! There surely is at least one reader of this forum that would happily trash the 1st admendment to anyone with whom they do not agree. Insane!!  Almost all my posts are flagged...I obviously on occasion make a salient comment!!

Amen and right on Copper!!!  Keep it up.

Being flagged is just another example of what makes our country great...Freedom of Speech. No different than a negative rating or using the ignore feature. Be happy, in our country, one can flag and live to flag another day. Copper should wear it as a badge of honor.
