Wedowee, AL or Wasilla, AK...trailer trash is trailer trash, even when they live in a house!

And obviously from reading many of your posts, bigotry is alive and well in Atlanta, GA.

The truth is not bigotry. Sarah blames her sons' problems on Obama. Her son served in 2008 and is to be thanked for serving his country. I would think that Palin should have been able to obtain treatment for him during the past 7 years as she does have connections. Sarah needs to be a mom and display some personal responsibity. Blaming Obama shows she is incapable of any rational response to a sad family issue. She needs to look in the mirror and put her son's treatment before her need for public glory. A real sad individul leading a real sad family.

According to what I read, he never served in combat.  Additionally, he ended up in the military when a judge told him to go in the military or go to jail.  So he is not suffering from combat related PTSD - he's just a violent person.  I hope he getst jail time this time.  And Obama is not to blame for his problems, no matter how many times Sarah Palin says it.  Vets have come out violently against her comments.

And "trailer park trash" is a state of mind where everything is someone else's fault and has nothing to do with living in a trailer park.  I don't think it is biogtry - it's just not being "politically correct".

There is bigotry in Atlanta just as there is on Lake Martin.  I am bigoted against bigots such as Gov "I aint no such no more" Palin!  She who wants to "Take back America"...who is she taking it from and who gets it??  The woman is an idiot.  Listen to her talk!  Is she on something?  I would hate to be assigned the task of diagraming one of her sentences.  Thank God the women is not VP!

Drag a hundred-dollar bill through a trailer park, you never know what you'll find.

I don't think James was referring to someone's state of mind...neither was Archy.

Oh yes I was!  I completely agree with Hound that there is a Trailer trash state of mind which applies to lots of folks other than mobile home dwellers...anything bad that happens to you or anybody you know is always somebody else's fault.  That pretty well sums up the Palins of Wasilla!

I would also say that the same state of mind goes a long way toward making Carville's remark right on the money!

Are you saying that my President and His cabinet are "trailer trash"?

From Wikipedia:

Trailer trash (or trailer park trash) is a derogatory North American English term for a small percentage of poor people living in a trailer or a mobile home. It is particularly used to denigrate white people living in such circumstances and can be considered to fall within the category of racial slurs.

Hound's and Archy's attempt to rationalize it as something else is expected.

No LG I don't because I do not agree with your premise. Turn your question around, should I or you consider most of the people on this forum including, to be trailer trash because they blame almost all of the bad things that happen on Obama?  You see, it is not a particularily relevant question.

I'm just wondering why AU67 is so vehmently defending trailer park trash?  And yes it is a slur of sorts, but it's not everyone living in a trailer, nor is it just people living in a trailer.  Would you feel better with po' white trash?  I'm sorry, but I have always thought Sarah Palin was a phony and ignorant.  I know she loves to drag out those folksy kinds of expressions to make people believe she is just like them - but the truth is the only thing Sarah Palin is out for is herself.  One only need to look at her son and daughter.  And the fact that she just walked off her term as governor even after McCain didn't get elected.  I cannot imagine why Trump woudn't want to distance himself from her and that fact that he has embraced her, makes me view him differently.

It's not blaming others for your screwing up - it is blaming everyone for what you don't have, and why you don't have it when in fact, you've never tried very hard to get it.  You just think that somehow everyone else has a shortcut to success instead of knowing that all it takes is hard work and time.

As far as this other baloney - show me one President that hasn't blamed his predecessor for the "mess" he inherited.

Agree with you on the Palin opinion.  Trump WANTS Iowa, because it is there.  His C M saw the possibility of some conservative votes.  Not sure how long Trump can stomach her.

I have thought all along that once President, Trump should appoint Palin to Environmental Protection and Jeb to Dept of Education, and then abolish both agencies.

To me T T is an set of morals, a certain fashion statement (both clothes and curb appeal?), and an attitude.  I have not seen it concentrated on "I am in bad way because of someone else"

Having been raised with a certain standard of dress, manners and attitude and raised with the idea that no matter what you do in this life, you should strive to do it to the best of your ability, I find it distasteful in others who continually blame others and "the system" for their failures.  I was raised up North, where there are not as many mobile homes as there are here in the South, but mostly those who live in those mobiles (generally in "parks") are of the nature to blame everyone but themselves for their failures, and lack of accomplishment.  Hence Trailer Park Trash.  I don't believe that makes me a bigot - I believe it makes me someone, who from my own experience, calls it as I see it in terms of a certain attitude and way of dealing (or not) dealing with the world.  In my view, Sarah Palin can live in a mansion, but she is still, at very heart, trailer park trash.

And if you want further to know, I find your slinging around the term "bigot" to be somewhat bigotted yourelf.

Yes, I am a "yankee", but I've lived below the Mason Dixon line many years longer than I lived above it.  But that is not the point.  As far as I know "trailer park trash" is universally recognized.  And keep in mind Wix, you don't have to live in a trailer to be it.  How many times have you lived up North?  Never?  That's what I thought.  So I guess that would make you a bigot about the North, huh?

As usual your air of superiority leads you to make false assumptions and statements, all to falsely elevate yourself above us lesser Southerners.  Yes, I have lived in yankeeland.  Also, I have worked extensively in the "noth" and I've even lived and worked in Europe So you see, you superior liberals (including the likes of Archidiot, Goofidiot, and Copperbutt) should not assume your superiority when those you enjoy making snide remarks about are actually, in most cases, better educated and more sophisticated than you.....this especially applies to Archidiot and Goofidiot.  The derogatory term "Yankee" is never considered to be a complement.

And I should care what you think ..... WHY?????  I too have lived and worked in Europe.

I know a lot of Southerners, have a lot of Southern friends - everything from people who have done some work on our house to the women I paint with, to my neighbors, and other people I have lived around and worked with over the years. I've been married to one for 37 years.  Lots of them have lived and worked up north too.  My being a yankee is not an issue for them, so I really can't imagine why it would be an issue for you. They know me, you do not.  You don't agree with me, don't like my "air" you are free to skip my posts.  And I won't even mention that "cliquishness" of some Southerners who seem to think they are superior to everyone else.

If you are as worldly as you claim to be, you would know that as much as the percieved notion by some Southerners that Northerners have an air of superiority, some Northerners percieve that  Southerners also have an air of superiority and are very cliquish  about being from the South.  In my view, neither makes you better, it just makes you different.  Every place has it's plusses and minuses; good people, and jerks.

I'm now old enough to have lived and been judged by all kinds of people, and I certainly don't lose any sleep over any of it.  I'm too busy enjoying life.

And Hodja, you better behave or I'll sic my Yankee friends on you.  :-)

Go back and read your accusing trailer trash post above.  You directly accused me of being Southern trailer trash, who had never lived in the North, and implied that I was, in fact, some of the "trailer trash" you love to look down your nose at.  Admit your air of superiority to all of us on this forum.....you'd be better off to do so.

The fact is, I don't sit around in judgement of most people, because I'm really not a judgemental person and I just don't care that much.  Just about everyone is on their journey called life.    I make exceptions for whiners, accusers and those who just can't take responsibilty for their failures.  Also those who think the world owes them something.

Once again, you have taken someone's thread and hijacked it.  And that is rude. So that is really my opinion of you Wix.  I think you are rude and tiresome, and not nearly as clever as you seem to think you are.

So there you sit, snowed in, in Shirlington, in Northern VA, insulting Yankees, probably being paid in yankee dollars.  Most of the people you are probably worrking with are likely "yankees"..... I think the snow has gone to your head.  You have been to my house at the lake --- indeed my half Yankee house, and have even met my Yankee dog.  I'll bet your wife has a Yankee candle somewhere in your house too.  LOL

Careful, I might save one of those snowballs just for your Yankee "self".  There is plenty available in the way of raw materials!  Ventured out to Pentagon City late this afternoon.  Passable but many multiple lane roads reduced to one or two.  RFK Stadium parking lot converted to a 20foot high mountain of snow.

On the other hand I won't be complaining quite so much about the prices in Shirlington.  The Village consortium hired help has done a wonderful job of clearing the snow, to include using a plow/box the size of a full size SUV to gobble up huge portions of the cold stuff.

BTW:  I was born and have lived my entire life in GA.  I have travelled extensively in Europe but have never lived there.  Bet you hated living and working in Europe where every country has "socialized medecine", believes in science, grants paid leave to new mothers...more of that outdated "family values" stuff, and whose people willingly pay taxes for modernizing transportation and infrastructure.

I have also had Europeans tell me how much they admire and even envy America.  I also have had them (often the same people) tell me how happy they are with their own country.  On the subject of healthcare, I did have dinner in 2006 with an English couple who lived in the America for 5 and 3 years respectively before they were married.  Somehow healthcare came up and they bitched and moaned about the NHS, then both looked at each other, laughed and said inspite of its faults the NHS was far superior to what they experienced in the US under their employer provided private insurance. These were well educated London suburbanites...he commuted to London every day to his job with a large hotel chain and she is a stay at home mom...sounds pretty American doesn't it?  Every advanced nation has a lot to be proud of and somethings they prefer to forget.

My experience in Europe was amazement at how the taxes, from VAT on up, stifle the possible advancement of employees up the income scale.  Seems taxes to pay for all those "wonderful" socialist services keeps everyone in the lower middle class....no chance to excell.  Why are the cream of the crop of physicians, engineers, scientists, etc. all beating down the doors to get into America.....in fact our country was founded by disgruntled, desperate, and determined Europeans.  Archidiot, why don't you move to one of your beloved socialist country?

I like it here.  Why don't you move to some rightwing dictatorship where anybody with ideas not in lock step with yours are shot?  I think you would be very comfortable there.

Name one doctor from a western democracy who is beating down the doors to get into America?  Europeans are taxed heavily but they get more bang for the euro than we do and the vast majority either support it or tolerate it with minimal bitching.  I hear more anti tax BS on this forum in two weeks than I have heard in the approximately 15 months I have enjoyed spending in 11 trips to Europe over the last 45 years!  My experience is that most Europeans are as interested in advancing up the income, social and opportunity ladder as we are, but they realize, much more than we do, that there is a cost worth paying to make sure that dream is available to all.  There are certainly exceptions, but they go to prove the rule.

Yeah, when they plow, they make those snow mountains.  They stick around until March and get get dirtier and messier as time goes on.  And then guarentee a lot of wet little streams that keep icing over for months.  There is no joy in snow, except when it first comes down and lays on the trees and the ground and looks like a picture.  After that, it is just misery.

Glad you had good snow removal.

Your love and promotion of socialism leads one to take a look at the rest of the world's tax cost of utopia.  While I have no intention of comparing US with socialist Europe, I have provided a link so Archidiot can do some homework.  Just a couple of stats for those interested.  Payroll taxes (health ins. and social security) in France take 66% right off the top of all employees.  In addition, income tax rate is 33%, and the VAT tax is 20% on none food.  Germany is 41% (health & Social security), 29% income, and 31% VAT.  Looks like you socialist really know how to suck all the blood out of a country's economy.

Sorry, typo on VAT tax rate for Germany.  The accurate VAT rate is 19% on non-food items.
