Last month, this was in the news....which was surprising since he felt he was qualified to be President...."Famed neurosurgeon and former presidential candidate Ben Carson is reportedly not interested in serving in President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet because he doesn’t have any experience running a federal agency.

“The President-elect offered him [Carson] anything he wanted to do,” Armstrong Williams, Carson’s business manager, told Circa.

“But in the end he didn’t want anything,” Williams added. “His background didn’t prepare him to run a federal agency.”"

Maybe, Ben took an online course in Management during the past few weeks.

Dr. Carson ripped a page from the Jill/Hill playbook and did a recount of the qualifications of the current regime, from the President on down, and found zero...nilch...nada...zip...none!!

having been in themortgage business for 42 years, i cant remember any Director of HUD who was qualified for the position-all they excelled in was empire building--more employeees sitting around doing nothing--so maybe a brainsurgeon is more results oriented !!! last thing our GOVT needs is MORE POLITICIANS--u go Ben

Agree.  Libs and Media (but I repeat myself) all do not get it.  We are in uncharted territory.  Trump won because he is not govt, not in bed with media, not going do things the same way that has not worked for years, gonna make govt employees work for a living.  Trump is not mediaexpectationxyz.

I'm not sure what they mean by not qualified.  Very few political appointees have "experience" prior to being appointed. What you really need is common sense and the ability to  ask questions.  He'll have a legal staff, and other staff to advise him.  I suspect that he is smart enough to figure some things out.  He's really the point person to carry out the President's vision. 

In my next to last job, I was Director of a technical group of 40 plus engineers, most with at least Masters and some with PhDs in their particular engineering discipline.  I am not an engineer, but it wasn't my job to engineer - it was to keep them on track (and not wander off into some interesting technical concept), make sure they could talk to non-engineers and to present data is a logical and reasonable manner.  My job was to create an enviroment for them to work in that they could do their best work.  It's not rocket science or even brain surgery.
