So I read the article about the new golf course and was excited.  Then talked to someone who said the course was going to be private like Willow Point.  Can anyone confirm whether the course will be another millionaire hang out or if normal people will be able to enjoy it too?

I'm tuned in fairly well, and am told it has changed from semi private to exclusively private & not equity membership-(neither is WP)-so if you do want to join, which i did, but won't now, get that corporate membership approved for the BIG BUCKS $$$; as a side note , im a 5 handicap & played WP ( not a member)  recently on a wednesday & counting or 4some, i saw 12 golfers on the course 10 am-1 pm; what bewilders me is why another course 5 miles from WP, when WP isnt over played ? last i heard WP had increased not only monthly dues but membership fee and 86% of all members were out of towners; Im a big fan & friend of Ben, but like the other guy said, its Ben's land and his money-just makes you wonder whos calling the shots--like on Pennsylvania Ave.

Love the game, been playing a long, long time.  Have had a second home on the lake for over 15 years (not a Russell property).    I, not braggadociously, have the disposable income to afford membership at a number of private clubs that have crossed my path in Georgia and Alabama  over the years.  Quite frankly, I enjoy the simple pleasure of varied, well kept courses, that consistently challenge my game and keep my mind fresh while strategizing a new course in real time.  Golf at Reynolds Plantation comes to mind......What is Mr. Russell afraid of with regard to whom to open his courses too?  I have a feeling that I know the answer to that question.  Certainly the prerogative of the Russell Company, but so is how many choose to spend disposable recreation dollars.

I have played only two of the Coore and Crenshaw creations, Kapalua (Plantation) and Talking Stick.  Both were spectacular in their own right and I am sure this newest design will not disappoint.
