The day has arrived.....

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that fully vaccinated adults can safely resume activities indoors or outdoors without masks or distancing, in gatherings large or small. The announcement marks a major milestone in the effort to emerge from the coronavirus pandemic in the United States.

CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky announced the new guidance Thursday.

"You can do things you stopped doing because of the pandemic," Walensky said.

The new policy is based on recent real-world studies from Israel and the U.S. on people who've been vaccinated, she said.

In response to a question, Walensky said the federal mask requirement on public transportation remains in force for everyone, vaccinated or not – including on buses, trains, airplanes and in stations and airports.

Thanks to Trump for the vaccine and Biden for the distribution.

Seriously, not that I am a huge fan of the vaccines but this is really smart if they actually work and are safe.  It will convince a lot of skeptics that the CDC thinks the vaccine actually works.  So for those of you that are vaccine proponents this is very good news.  I am predicting there will be a second mini-wave as a result of this.  As for the anti-vax crowd, nothing will convince them so forget about it.  They are a small percentage of the population and we will reach herd immunity without them.

What has come to light in the science over the last several weeks to cause this significant change in policy?  There was no reference to any rationale for this rather substantial change.  I suspect they finally came to the realization that the messaging was a mess, as I said in my earlier post that you and other derided.  Would like to better understand the science behind this surprising change in policy.....but I doubt there is any.  You guys should listen to me.

Predicting the CDC would at sometime change their advice on COVID is like predicting the DJIA will rise and fall in 2021. Eventually, they will all occur. Genius no....5th grade church education rationale..yes.

I never predicted any such thing.  I merely pointed out that the messaging was awful and it was an impediment to people believing the vaccine worked.  It is a happy coincidence that a mere few days after I pointed out their awful messaging that they changed course and did what I told you yahoo leftists they needed to do.  Hence my joke in my original response that the CDC reads the Forum.

But again I repeat my question before you went off on some non sequitar tangent, what science caused them to change course?  So far I have seen nothing scientific but maybe there is a basis.  I doubt it and they finally realized they were being dumb and counterproductive.  Which was exactly my point.  Here's hoping it works.

I apologize...guess I gave you too much credit that you did not deserve. You weren't predicting merely stating an opinion.  Your opinion was that at some point the CDC would reverse course. Kinda like the stock market will rise and fall. Hard to argue with that.

Again, I never predicted anything and was as surprised as anyone given what the CDC and others said in the last two weeks.  But the CDC was only one part of the problem.  The WH, the media, Democrats in Congress, leftist virtue signalers, Wix and many others contributed to the problem by insisting that fully vaccinated people still had to wear the face diaper.  The fact of the matter is that Republican governors came to their senses long before the CDC, et al. And for that Dementia Joe called them neanderthals......and yet here we are, the CDC, the WH and so on are all for neanderthal thinking. 

Want to know who is a neanderthal?  Leftists who say they are going to keep wearing their masks because they don't want to be misidentified as a Republican.  I kid you not...this from the party of tolerance and science......  Let me reassure you leftists, you will never be mistaken as someone that can think independently using facts, logic and reason.....never.

Literally NOTHING has changed in the science from the day, week or month before their curiously timed change in course.  Not one thing.  Well we have learned a couple of interesting things, nearly one half of the employees in the FDA, NIH and CDC have not been vaccinated despite being offered the vaccine in the first round.  That was as of yesterday in remarks Fauci made that was carried on pBS.  Think about that people.
